What would a hot Red Carpet event be without its fair share of hits and misses? British singer Jessie J managed to attend two separate Awards Ceremonies this past week and get a worse dressed label each time!
And that although she was wearing a Tom Ford total look one night and the other she was playing it too matchy-matchy. So let’s see how she got herself down the Fashion Disaster rabbit hole and what we can learn from her style mistakes!
Jessie J Elle Style Awards Fashion Disaster
This may sound odd to many fashprofessionals and fashamateurs, but getting all style-wrong while wearing a Tom Ford dress and Tom Ford boots is indeed possible! Here’s how:
Wearing designs from the Spring Summer 2014 collection was a wonderful idea gone terribly wrong. The boots are amazing taken separately, I’m not such a huge fan of the dress, and especially not the hair, but maybe I’m just biased as I liked Jessie with short hair and these extensions don’t work too much in her advantage.

Another example of how trying too hard to match one’s outfit/beauty appearance is sometimes too much to handle. The nails could’ve passed as ok, but the lips? Oh, my! So wrong!
What we need to learn from Jessie J’s catsuit style mistakes is that although fashion designers work wonders when they create and present their seasonal collections on the runway (in this case, Julien MacDonald), reality might work against that look.
Matching too much will end up by clashing your appearance. Mixing is good. Mixing shows creativity and imagination. Getting all wrapped up in the same shade of lilac or wearing items with the same shredding factor will definitely bring out the ‘too much’ more than the ‘so together’.

Coordination is the key concept when taking style measures. And I think the only natural thing to do in Jessie J’s case is changing the fashion adviser. Clearly two fashion disasters in a row only pave the road to a long row of style missteps and I’m afraid Tom Ford will cease lending clothes to anyone representing the singer from now on!
