If you’re missing the transparent plastic stilettos and whatnots from the 2010-2011 fashion seasons, Fendi Spring Summer 2014 is your go-to shopping destination. And if you’re totally addicted to anything gradient, bet all on Fendi’s seasonal ombre!
Studying the stylists books for Spring 2014 and discovering that graphic print is SS14 must was, I’m certain, heaven on fashion Earth for Karl Lagerfeld who issued a very graphic collection. Take that and add layers of sheer fabric to obtain the visuals of the Fendi Spring Summer 2014 collection. A graphic fashion game of peek-a-boo with strapped ombre sandals and madly beautiful gradient bags!
Speaking of sandals and bags, let’s take a closer look (warning: picture heavy story, hit the jump to see all the images):
Transparent plastic straps, the wide and the narrow type, all combined into a matching gradient chromatic with the upper level. It’s not for nothing that Lagerfeld partnered up with Melissa for a special collaboration through his affordable brand, Karl. He’s been flirting with this material for so long (I still feel haunted by the clear plastic Chanel 4-figure box-clutch we talked about just a couple of weeks ago) and he’s still finding ways to innovate. Since being stubborn is not an innovation per se, adding layers can be quite the new plastic approach.
Layering transparency and graphic prints, Lagerfeld managed a lovely return to the a retro flavored geometry in basic shades of white, black and tangerine (and plastic is part of that retro overall feel. A retro-futuristic one).
Add a pinch of blue and lovely salmon, some neutrals on the side and you’ll be covering pretty much the entire palette der Kaiser concocted for this Milan Fashion Week presentation.
But if this is any hint to what his own collection or even Chanel Spring 2014 will look like, little furry accessories will be popping their cuddly hairs on the catwalk models! We have Choupette to thank for that, I’m certain, as Lagerfeld is implacably in love with his little ball of fur companion.
Think furry rings and furry bags or furry clutches. Brigitte Bardot would be teary eyed, I’m sure while Peta would go completely over the top with the situation (hopefully all that plastic used for high fashion purposes would minimize this Fendi fur-trouble)!
However, no scandal and plastic repetition will ever stop me from drooling all over Fendi’s Spring Summer 2014 gradient bags! The geometric perfection of an ombre motif has something eternally perfect and perpetually decadent!
