James Bond Theme: Adele Skyfall

The Grammy Awards are up next. Who’s your favorite this time? I’m rooting for Gotye and The Black Keys (they’re nominated for Record of the Year). But so many amazing artists are being nominated as well! Paul McCartney’s for his Kisses on the Bottom album! Even Alabama Shakes for the great Hold On we talked about.

But Adele is nominated as well, for a Best Pop Solo Performance (for Set Fire to the Rain at the Royal Albert Hall – you can watch the performance right after the jump!)

But before we got that amazing performance – Adele is always incredible in her live performances – I have to talk about how much I loved her Skyfall theme song! I said something a couple of days ago about listening to that song almost every day since it came out…

James Bond Skyfall Adele theme song

It’s such a strong piece, without even getting into the details of Adele’s beautiful, powerful voice! When the movie started, we were in this over packed theater for the premiere – I had no idea how the song would be, I hadn’t listened to the previously released track – but it started and there was this particular depth to it… This honesty I hadn’t felt coming from other James Bond theme songs.

But maybe that’s also because Adele herself feels so honest and giving in her songs. But did you watch Skyfall? How did you feel about it and about Adele’s song matching the movie’s plot? I think it was a great fit – Bond himself was coming back to his roots. Adele’s soulful music approach is a great companion for this human approach of the legendary 007.

No, I haven’t seen Skyfall [yet]. But I listened a lot to the song the last months. I watched Adele ‘Live at the Royal Albert Hall’ four times. So what I can I say? Adele!!

I root for The Black Keys. I LOVE El Camino my fave album of last year. Second best Mumford & Sons.
I must be the only person in the world that doesn’t feel Gotye…..
I love Alabama Shakes also as best newcomer. Such a fresh and wonderful group. <3

Best hard rock/metal performance is Halestorm Love Bites (So Do I). They were the support act for Slash ft. Myles Kennedy. Which I saw for real!

Surprise, Dutch tv is going to broadcast the Grammy's live for the first time. On public tv! Never seen that one before….

So I'm going to sleep long this Sunday. BAFTA's are on BBC Sunday night. After a pause I'm going to watch the Grammy's in the middle of the night! Lol!

Ah, let's enjoy trivial fun with movie awards, music and of course the fashion!! :)

Let the music and fashion feast my eyes….I hope….:)

I do not watch the Grammy’s any more, award shows bore me, but I am very pleased that Glen Gould won a life time achievement award. : )

I just ‘watched’ the BAFTA’s. It”s only two hours and they have Stephen Fry as a presenter.
In the mean time my bathroom (which is not the toilet but the shower, tiles etc.) has become spic&span. Oh, the joy of great headphones. I’m very sure about one movie in particular: I.DO.NOT.WANT.TO.HEAR.ANNE HATHAWAY.SCREAM.IN.LES MISÉSRABLES! Although she won the BAFTA. Making Jennifer Lawrence looking less cute….;) Loves body languages.
Ben Affleck must have a field year and being the happiest guy ever. Hopes he’s not going to big headed.

It’s the first time ever I will ‘watch’ the Grammy’s. Until I have enough and the performance are fun enough.

As for fashion I got to say I haven’t read much yet besides Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior dress. I’m so done with these strapless dresses. Not interesting.
I loved Sarah Jessica Parker showing up as presenter modest and appropriate dressed for a world in turmoil. SJP it has been a long time woman but I applaud you. Well done !! :)

Quitted watching the Grammy’s after 10 minutes.

I’m still in love with SJP’s jumpsuit at the Bafta’s. It’s on the Daily Mail worst dressed list. :)
