If you needed more proof that the 2013 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet was, to put it gently, poorly represented, join me for a discussion about the Monique Lhuillier girls!
Both Eva Longoria and Nina Dobrev were wearing dresses from Monique Lhuillier’s Spring Summer 2013 collection. Which wouldn’t be such a bad thing after all. Except that while Nina Dobrev perfectly wears her teal dress, Eva Longoria’s purple maxi gown is clearly a bad fashion choice.
I obviously have no critic perspective on Nina’s dress – I actually love it! I loved the flaky sparkling texture and definitely loved the color! What I didn’t appreciate, was Nina’s hair. It looked outdated and lacked actual style personality (I’ll get back to that hair, stay with me!).
Eva Longoria’s purple ruffled dress is another story altogether. We’ve seen Eva wearing shades of purple before. We’ve seen her wearing floor length gowns on previous occasions. But I’ve rarely seen Eva going for such a disastrous look. The cut of the dress does nothing in Eva’s advantage. Au contraire: both the shape of the gown and the ruffled details look unnecessarily busy on a too – tight sartorial approach for Eva’s new curves.
And what’s going on with that hair? It’s clear as daylight that both Eva and Nina were using the same stylist, but really, the same hairdo, same earrings and same lipstick as well? We’re not in high school anymore, some styling efforts could’ve been made! (images Jason Merritt, Getty; styledotcom)

Nina is so beautiful – it is great to see her getting some publicity. But you’re right her hair is boring.
