Yellow Is The New Black! Red Carpet Dresses Set The Jewel Trend For Evening Wear

My dahlings! As you know, Sunday was a special day for us too. Not only the 2012 Emmy Awards took place but we were also invited to a wonderful wedding party. As I anticipated, I skipped this Red Carpet beat, but… today I changed my mind.

I will not let this Emmies edition go by without saying what I think. Fashion wise. Because, I don’t know if you noticed, but when you’re judging freely, with no time pressure or whatever else, you’re thinking clearer. And from the Red Carpet pictures I saw, the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards were all about jewel tones.

Lovely dresses in lovely rainbow colors! I loved so many of them, I think I wouldn’t have slept the night, just talking and talking dresses! But then again, I haven’t slept that night anyway, just dancing and dancing at that said wedding! But back to fashion: the winning ladies wore yellow! So do take note, yellow is the new black for evening wear!

My favorite? By far, Julianne Moore in yellow dress by Christian Dior Couture. Perfection. Just that. walking, smiling, redhead perfection!

Next on my favorite yellow list was Claire Danes, of course! Who, besides starring in one of the most amazing TV series ever created (Homeland), was putting the cutest little baby bun on display! In yellow draped Lanvin dress! Beautiful! Beautiful dress, beautiful lady, flawless series!

Julie Bowen! Oh! I’m so happy for her and for Modern Family altogether (Eric Stonestreet also won for his amazing portrayal of Cam – Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Mitch character’s love interest in the series). Julie wore a mustard – yellow Monique Lhuillier dress and she accessorized it with her golden smile!

Sometimes, I think fashion stylist get struck by some kind of style genius lightning: like for this 64th edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards! They really did an outstanding job for their famous clients. Who was your favorite? (and why) (the pictures you see in this story were handpicked and carefully put together by yours truly with a little help from here and there)

Julianne is my fave for obvious reasons I guess? Redhead, freckled….but these are the only things I relate to. ;)
The auburn red looks good on her.

Lovely colour something I noticed too. Would not look that great on me alas. It depends on the nuance of this colour. Claire looks radiant. I’m so jealous we are still waiting here for season two of Homeland :)

Kpriss, oh me….I really did miss the red carpet of my fave blogger. But reading your great weekend story of love and dancing and dancing is such a joy I get it. Why care when you are that happy? But thanks anyway for your stories. Both :) :*

awww! That’s so, so nice of you! I wish I would’ve done both! :) But I couldn’t just close my eyes and pretend it didn’t happen anyway, plus, like you said, Homeland won! Can’t miss that! They put an end to the Mad Men reign! Good for them!

And Modern Family is truly an excellent show! I’m happy it gets such recognition, even though I’m sure it’s also for political reasons as well (much like Homeland, the President’s favorite TV series ;) )

Oh, and yoga? I think I can safely put it on hold for a month or so! ;)

I told ya I’d miss out on Modern Family since it has been broadcast here but I didn’t notice it at all. Can’t stand it. I totally believe that this is a great show and one of the kind I love! Well, I must rent the dvd box then? :)
