Every time I went on and on saying good (or not so good) things about the Red Carpet parade, I somehow targeted the wearer. How wrong of me and what an un-Hollywood thinking! Our beloved celebrities strutting the Red Carpet with their fierce dresses don’t pick them personally. Oh, no! They have someone doing it for them. Classic.

A hired professional picks those special outfits so the beloved celebrity in question could proudly walk the Red line stuffed with photographers. So who’s picking for who? Tara Swennen does Kristen Stewart. (hit the jump to find out more secret Hollywood stylist names and who their clients are!)

Swennen previously styled Miley Cyrus, Paula Patton and Angie Harmon and now has moved up and she’s taking care of Kristen Stewart’s Red Carpet style. Next is Jessica Paster, another stylist extraordinaire looking after Dakota Fanning, Emily Blunt, Avril Lavigne and Christina Applegate.

Jessica, an underwear designer by formation, was the name of the styling game before Rachel Zoe and she used to take care of celebrities like Kate Hudson, Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger. Have you ever heard about Cristina Ehrlich? Cristina dresses big names like Penelope Cruz, Jessica Biel, Amy Adams and even self made fashionistas Ashley Olsen and Nicole Richie. Cristina Ehrlich, a former ballet dancer, started by styling Mandy Moore and she’s counting seven years since she’s Penelope’s stylist. Who she used to work for? Demi Moore (currently styled by Rachel Zoe), Cameron Diaz and Anne Hathaway.

Ever heard about Leslie Fremar? Julianne Moore, Maggie Gylenhaal and Jennifer Connelly surely did! They use her precious styling for official Red Carpet events (yes, the Oscars included)! Say hello to British styling talent extraordinaire Cher Coulter. Her clients? Liv Tyler, Emily Mortimer, Sienna Miller and Kate Bosworth!

Nicole Kidman, Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Uma Thurman, Gwyneth Paltrow – they all worked with Anna Bingemann. Who’s dressing Sandra Bullock for the spotlight events? Deborah Waknin. Who’s taking care of Gwyneth Paltrow and Uma Thurman? Elizabeth Saltzman. Scarlett Johansson? Annabel Tollman. Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani? They’re both styled by Andrea Lieberman (Lopez loves her so that she has stuck with her for 12 years! Can you believe that?). Even Carey Mulligan uses a professional – Tiina Laakkonen.

Wait, there’s more! Music stars, just as movie stars use professional stylists as well. Everyone heard about B Akerlund’s work with Gaga (Paparazzi, directed by her husband, Jonas Akerlund). Maybe not everyone was au courant that B Akerlund has previously worked with Keith Flint (the Prodigy), Justin Timberlake, Robbie Williams and now she’s styling Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas, even Madonna!

These are just few of the names of the fashion shadows backing every Red Carpet decision of our beloved celebrities. It’s a job like any other and they charge from $250/day to $2,000/day, even more. And there’s no guarantee their clients won’t be taking the next stylist on the list for the next day… However, it’s always good to know what lies in the shadow of a Red Carpet dress.
