I’m one of those traditional-bounded who loves a classic red Christmas Tree. Not that I would mind some color, but I just don’t see it blue. Or silver!
I love my Christmas tree natural, green with red ornaments, gold accents and still multicolored lights in. Others seem to appreciate the same colors I do since the world’s most expensive bauble is red with gold (proper gold!) lace. Costing only $31, 400, this exclusive Christmas ornament is made by Krebs Glas Lauscha GmbH. The red bauble is decorated with a 12k gold and 120 VS1, 5,1 carats diamonds lace. How do you like your Christmas Tree? (via dailytimes.com.pk)
Given that it was such a challenge, the following year after the release of this lovely precious bauble above, Mark Hussey, owner of Hallmark Jewellers, unveiled the most valuable Christmas ornament ever made! Just because ‘It was never about the value of the bauble, we just wanted to do something special for Christmas’!
This one is inspired by a snowflake and it’s made of 18 carat white gold encrusted with 1,578 diamonds and 31 carat Roman diamonds surrounded by two rings with 188 red rubies. Estimated at over $130,000, you can safely consider this hand crafted bauble signed Embee Jewels of London and Hallmark Jewellers, the most expensive one in the world.

hey, just replying regarding the comment you left about the magazine cover i made! the whole point of the project was to recreate an existing magazine ;)
although our next project is to work on one from scratch and i’ve nearly completed it so i’ll probably post that soon haha. and we did have to include text, so that’s why it’s there btw.
Zoinks! A year’s salary for a single ornament somehow seems a bit steep.
We are treeless, but if we put one up, I’m quite sure it’d be tonal – likely silver and red.
Simple. Never the trend of the year. I’ve my old angels and old silver balls with red ribbons. And other beloves Christmas accessories.
Especially my angels looks so cute as cherubs.
This ball, or the price, is vulgar in my view.
Choke Cough Gasps Coughing again Clearing Throat Deep Breath before screeching…WHAT?
$31,400 for that caged ostrich testicle?
I’m sure a lot of care and attention by German craftsmen went into that bauble but personally it doesn’t look the money and looks like any $2 X’mas bauble Made in China.
I like traditional X’mas decos that shine and scintillating whitelights.A new tree but always with handed down family ornaments and the odd new flash buys. Also a Nativity scene with figurines of Joseph,Mary, the 3 Wise men and animals around the cradle waiting for baby Jesus to arrive on the 25th.
I’d like to take this oppurtunity to wish you Kpriss,Adriana,Ellington and all fellow Stylefrizzers a Merry X’mas and a Happy 2009!Its been fun meeting all of you!
LOL Dolly Bird! Hahaha…..

Its lovely to look at but the cost and the excess of it derides the real meaning of what Christmas is all about. This is just sad to me.
But on a happier note I want to wish you Kpriss, Adriana, Dolly Bird and et al a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Chanukah and Kwanza!
Hugs and Snowflakes! : )
Ellington
Thank you Adriana and Ellington!
Yes Happy Hanukkah/Chanukah and Kwanzaa too. I sincerely hope we haven’t forgotten anyone.
wow! that piece is way too expensive for a Christmas ornament.. anyhow, i wanna wish you kpriss and all of your avid readers here a Happy Christmas and all the love this season.. greetings from the Philippines! vi-a-v! =)
Thank you everyone! You’re so sweet! Indeed, Christmas shouldn’t be about who’s got the most expensive decoration…
It’s so much show off to do when you’re rich that I’m beginning to understand why loaded people don’t work much… ;)
