It’s not everyday you come across a fashion spread of 100 plus pages in a single magazine issue.
Fashion goes beyond white. Vogue Italy decided to show the world how a black issue is made and with whom. Except the cover-girls (Liya Kebede, Sessilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn and Naomi Campbell) you can also find from Alek Wek to Tyra Banks, all pictured in a color statement spread that has taken the world by storm.
Not trying to set a particular trend, but hoping to make people react to a mere physical reality, Vogue Italy Black Issue could, however, kick start a colored catwalk for the next fashions shows. (there are some of Naomi’s pictures from this Vogue’s issue and a clip with all the pictures from the magazine after the cover picture)

Love it or hate it, Naomi’s I-D cover with Stefano Pilati isn’t one to overlook. Inez and Vinoodh really done an outstanding job.
There’s still one tiny problem – isn’t this the same YSL’ Stefano Pilati who revealed to the world why fashion doesn’t go black anymore? Let me have a bit of remember the times: “To me, it is a matter of proportions and the bodies I choose. My fit model was a black model. When I wanted to translate what I put on her, it was a disaster. It would need 13 times more work in the atelier to modify it to put on a more Caucasian anatomy. Sometimes, it’s not your choice. You can’t find “black models? that are beautiful and with the right proportions. I prefer them with lean proportions with no big hips.? (two more pictures follow right after the jump!)

That’s about the most insane thing I’ve ever seen! And precisely the reason I decided to show the appalling picture to you too.
It’s even beyond those designers guns. A new way to express atrocity except couture-guns - couture-dogs. It’s, from what I understood, a sculpture even if it looks every inch a handbag to me. Gross and beyond any possible good taste but symbolic enough to make people think. If they have the required neuronal net. How does this make you feel? I’m like going vegan for some time starting now…

If one day I’ll hear that they’re building the Moon in Dubai, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit!
Later this year, a new project will begin setting its first stones (sort of speaking) – Isla Moda. A Fashion Island. Literally. Involving fashion designers from allover the world will mold the new resort into an exclusive fashion industry promise land. There would be fashion shows and product launches, celebrities storming around.

The only thing not getting tagged by a designer would be the air on Isla Moda. Everything else will receive a heavy label. Residents will be provided with a personal concierge – a redeemed stylists under the Dubai sun who can help you sort your wardrobe and everything else surrounding their customers designer-hunger. The first designer announced for the project is none the other than the Kaiser Lagerfeld. Beware! There will be Chanel-tagged sidewalks! (just joking! Do you think they’ll make residences called Lagerfeld Villa? or fancy roads like Alexander McQueen Boulevard and so on?)

I have just one tagline for Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Winter 2008 2009 Fashion show. And that is – fur. Fur. And then add some more fur.
With an absolute eighties flavor, the shows starts under Thriller chills and goes on the fur road on and on and on. Grey and beige, a bit of color with some strange looking dresses leaving me a strong couch fabric aftertaste, and that pretty wraps up the JPGaultier FW 08-09. What’s your take on the show? (you can see the fashion show right after the picture)
