Juliana Cairone’s Rare Vintage Dress for Angelina Jolie at SAG 2008
January 28th, 2008 by kpriss
Maybe it’s just me and my sense of style that are outrageously deranged by Angelina’s outfits at various events. But I thought that if I bring these pictures before your eyes, I’ll be reassured.
More info on the spectacularly ugly dress? It’s from Juliana Cairone’s “Rare Vintage” collection (if we indulge ourselves in calling a store “collection”) and it represents an abstract version of the Hermes horse print.
Me, I’d say that she’s just pulling a J-Lo on us, completely in denial of the rumors stating that she’s pregnant (again.. only this time with twins?!). But besides that, what do you think about this dress?
Kylie Minogue at the Nrj Awards in Cannes
January 26th, 2008 by kpriss
The Red Carpet. Cannes. France. January 26th. Kylie Minogue. It all seems fine until now. But let’s see these pictures.
A flower print dress, colorful, joyful, light makeup, peep toe pumps, red nail toes, French manicure. It all sounds so perfect! Only the flower print dress looks really weird to my eyes. That black ribbon is cutting my appetite for spring.
I’m not going to search for it since it seems so disturbingly ugly to me. But if you do know who designed it and how much one can pay for such a fashion disaster, don’t hesitate to write, I’ll update immediately!

Matchstick Earrings by Laura Lobdell
January 26th, 2008 by kpriss
Fashion is ever surprising. This time, accessories concerned. And more specifically jewelry. And even more specifically – earrings.
I’m a big fan of long straight earrings (not always since my toddlers all reach enthusiastic for mum’s new bling bling) but these ones just raised my eyebrows like “whaaaaat?!”.
The matchstick earrings by Laura Lobdell are made from sterling silver, copper tips and they measure 2 inches and come in a box saying “I play with fire” all that for $175. Just be careful not to get burned!
What do you say? It’s a hit or a miss?
Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell Pictured Together by Mario Testino for Vogue
January 26th, 2008 by kpriss
Two fashion icons pictures together. One of them is white, the other one is black. Both of them beautiful, both of them overwhelmingly known all over the world. Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell are posing together for Mario Testino in the French edition of February Vogue Magazine.
The article begins with a snoring title about Kate and Naomi being not only beauty and fashion icons but also “bad girls” perfect representations “this glam duo lasts because it embodies beauty, freedom and even the right to get burned”. But that’s about how far this article goes about Kate and Naomi “duo”.
Stella McCartney Handbags Collection 2008 for LeSportsac
January 25th, 2008 by kpriss
I forgot how fast we’re closing up on Easter until I saw this Stella McCartney Collection for LeSportsac! When I grow up, I want to make cars that look like my Barbie. That’s how I felt when looking at the bunny backpack inspired by Stella’s son favorite cuddly animal.
For $120 I think it’s gonna dig dip into the family’s budget if all the kids would set up to this fashionable Sportsac. Luckily we’re facing a majority of boys in the house, so they’ll pass over the it thing very fast!
This 100% eco-friendly made from recycled materials limited edition is supposed to sell out in a blink of an eye. With no intention to offend in any way all the mothers out there (I count myself among you too), and even if this collection signed Stella McCartney is inspired by her own motherhood experience, if it was up to me, the “limited edition” would catch the next Easter in the stores…
What do you think? It’s a fancy style hit? Or a smashing style offender?

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume Ring
January 25th, 2008 by kpriss
I have just one perfume and I stick to it. I don’t believe in several perfumes matching different outfits or occasions, call me classic, but that’s me! A perfume is meant to represent the person who’s wearing it, not the outfits she/he chooses.
When spotting this solid perfume by Marc Jacobs, I wandered why they don’t make mine like that too. It’s perfectly presented to be a success – small, effective, beautiful, the Daisy Solid Perfume Ring it’s flawless (especially for gifts!) and only costs $30.
Pictures of Celebrities as Disney Legends by Annie Leibovitz
January 25th, 2008 by kpriss
We all have our childish moments. Well, here’s Annie Leibovitz! The Year of a Million Dreams promotion campaign is the perfect opportunity for celebrities to step into the magical lens with Annie Leibovitz and Disney.
The celebration of Disney Parks is a celebration for us all since all the pictures are fantastic!
Scarlett Johansson is Cinderella in the picture named “Where every Cinderella story comes true” and, like every Cinderella, she’s wearing nothing but the best – a unique Harry Winston tiara in platinum and over 62k diamonds ($325,000) and a Nicoletta Santoro custom made fairytale inspired gown.
David Beckham is Prince Phillip from the “Sleeping Beauty” in the picture named “Where imagination saves the day”.
Natalia Vodianova for Diane von Furstenberg 2008 Ad Campaign
January 25th, 2008 by kpriss
Modern has never been so graphic before. The new Diane von Furstenberg campaign with Natalia Vodianova is an urban masterpiece.
David Lipman and François-Marie Banier are the eye and the feeling behind the campaign:
“With so many magazine images that are so completely retouched, we’ve gone in the opposite direction, showing the soul of a woman. It is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in my career. It’s aggressive and strong in the most elegant way.”
Truly surprising words coming from “backstage” of an advertising campaign. I have to agree, everyone knows how frustrating photoshopped pictures are. Pictures meant to show not only close to perfection products but most of all a perfect face or body that doesn’t really exists.
This DVF campaign with mother of three Natalia is closest to us than fashion normally permits it.
I know it’s not very fashion in a wardrobe kind of way, but what do you think about this campaign? For me it looks very alive.
