Friday Break – Brazil Theme Song by Geoff Muldaur
February 29th, 2008 by kpriss
Do you ever find yourself haunted by some movies? Movies at first you didn’t get the right way and you feel there was something more about them?
That’s the way I feel about Terry Gilliam’s Brazil. Some movies just take time to bake in my head. But not the music.
I always had a special relationship with music (and soundtracks), so today’s break is, in a right way, image-less (because the movie is not fresh in my head anymore), but still meaning-full.
This Brazil song by Geoff Muldaur reminds me without any doubt of a fantastic movie. If you have seen it, let me know, it encourages me search for it and play it one of these days.
The Campfire Necklace
February 28th, 2008 by kpriss
Remember those Matchstick Earrings? Well, today I found them a match made in matchstick heaven! The Campfire Necklace is made from silver and the matchstick has an enamel head, it’s designed by Ann Pocket and costs $120.
For me, the fire magic is all gone now since I discovered last week my toddlers playing with matches (that they took from a drawer secured against little hands! And imagine that – they took the matchsticks and leaved the matchbox in the drawer! Couldn’t really figure out how they did it, but the important thing is I found them) so all reference to these tiny magical objects tends to freak me out!
I still wanted to bring you this necklace for fun, especially because I already shared the Matchstick Earrings with you. So what do you say? Too eccentric? Or your genre of playful accessories?

Claudia Schiffer for Dom Pérignon
February 28th, 2008 by kpriss
I guess everyone’s heard at least once the name Dom Pérignon. It’s the name of a Benedectine monk (Pierre Pérignon) who is believed to be the discover of champagne method for making sparkling wines.
Dom Pérignon is now a brand of champagne produced by Moët et Chandon. Enough with the history lesson, now let’s get to the fashion bottom of this!

Christian Dior Eyes Makeup
February 28th, 2008 by kpriss
It’s been a few days now that I sit and look at this picture, wondering what to do with.
It’s a photo from the Christian Dior fashion show, backstage makeup, and it would be about fall-winter 2008/2009 trends in makeup (or at least catwalk concerned trends). The work has been done by Path McGrath with Makeup Forever Silver Glitter over a black shadow and it’s supposedly inspired by Josephine Baker.
Maybe I’m not an avant-garde-ist when make-up involved. But at least, aesthetically, I can speak up and say there’s no way this is going on the streets!
Even for the catwalk is so theatrical that it’s sure to leave an impression. Like it did for me – I saw the picture and was inexplicably drawn to it.
So now I’m sharing it with you – what do you think of this make-up proposal? Does it mean it’s all going back to shades? To strong makeup? Or it’s just another catwalk trend never to survive outside the backstage makeup area?

Poseidon Underwater Hotel
February 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I was searching for interesting things to share with you, so this is what I found and thought it was absolutely spectacular: an underwater hotel!
The Poseidon Undersea Resort is the world’s first 40 feet underwater hotel set to open early 2009. Besides the six restaurants, seven bars, dive shop, water sports center, retail boutique, library/lounge, theater, conference room, wedding chapel, nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, you can actually feed the fish when pushing a button from a control console.

Emporio Armani Tennis Racquet
February 27th, 2008 by kpriss
It seems not only Chanel mixes sports and fashion. Emporio Armani sets his “7” brand target on the tennis course now.
Babolat (one of the leading names in tennis equipment) and Emporio Armani (wonder who’s got the product and who’s got the label in this story) issued a EA7 Tennis Racquet. For those of you knowing your way around tennis, it’s Babolat Pure Drive 107 (graphite) and Babolat cortex system (filtering out vibration) with Babolat signature two stripes on the circumference of the racket.
Emporio Armani features the eagle on the handle and in the overall look of the racquet since it’s all white, silver and black.
Have no idea whatsoever on the price, but I’m not among those who applaud this kind of products. I sometimes wish professionals would just stick to their field of expertise. Sometimes mixtures are interesting, but in general they carry a heavy price tag, completely unjustified.
What do you think? Is it worth it? Playing tennis with an Emporio Armani racquet?

Stylish Gadgets – Alessi Pop-Up Bottle Opener
February 27th, 2008 by kpriss
If you’re not familiar with Alessi’s work, than you don’t really know what you’re in for!
I’m a fan (even if I don’t really own products of his design, I’m always curious of what he comes up with next) and so I found his latest release today, and, of course, wanted to share with you!
It’s a mirror polished bottle opener! Made from stainless steel it looks like a bulb more than anything! I wonder if you can use it as a mirror…Anyway, it has a magnet that holds on the cap when you push down to open a bottle.
Alessi manages to transform kitchen tools into toys-like-gadgets (that’s one of the main reasons I don’t get any for my kitchen.. I know few little guys – yeah.. I’m still talking about my kids! just waiting for me to turn my back so they’ll steal anything from the drawers! Even secured as they are! So a shiny tiny Alessi would be more than perfect for them..).. What about you? Have you already used one of Alessi’s wonders?

Yves-Saint Laurent Manifesto Spring-Summer 2008 with Kate Moss
February 27th, 2008 by kpriss
When initiating a move, you’re forced to follow. Everyone’s waiting for your next step, everyone has the highest expectations.
Word of YSL Manifesto circulates for over few weeks now. Well here is the teaser, a so-called “making of” or “behind the scenes” of the Manifesto (along with pictures from the actual YSL Manifesto) that was distributed in selected locations.
What is YSL Manifesto, after all? It’s a booklet signed Stefano Pilati, first created in the fall-winter 07-08 campaign (and featuring Gisele Bundchen) and distributed during Fashion Week. Now we’re talking about 24 pages (printed on recycled paper) of campaign shot by Ines van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin featuring Kate Moss.
