Poseidon Underwater Hotel

I was searching for interesting things to share with you, so this is what I found and thought it was absolutely spectacular: an underwater hotel!

The Poseidon Undersea Resort is the world’s first 40 feet underwater hotel set to open early 2009. Besides the six restaurants, seven bars, dive shop, water sports center, retail boutique, library/lounge, theater, conference room, wedding chapel, nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, you can actually feed the fish when pushing a button from a control console.

An elevator gets to transport guests under the sea to the 24 suites and the luxury apartment that all have a special interior window film for privacy, even if day light hours it’s nearly impossible to look into the suits from underwater.

I won’t give you the details of the construction because they are overwhelmingly technical and the main purpose of this article is to show you what amazing things can be found across the world. The “Poseidon Experience” as the project is called, is one of those things I’d like to do before long ;) (and I’m terrified of great waters).

What do you say? Worth a try? (visit poseidon resorts)

Isn’t that crazy? When I first saw that, all I could think about were the old disaster movies. I didn’t even know what the name of it was. :)

It’s amazing and interesting for sure no doubts about that. But how many % of the sea-life is already damaged by human kind? 40%? Hmm…

#3 kpriss on 03.02.08 at 3:23 am

@Rebecca it does look pretty strange for common-used architecture ;)
@Adriana sad but accurate enough to make one crawl with pain. Human so-called “evolution” brings a wave of disaster with it. I think we will truly respect the environment when losing most of its treasures.

Aaahhh, the early days of Stylefrizz! :)))
I’m a bit claustrofobic but I still love this and the sea… my friend the sea…..:) :(

:”>

Is that good or bad? :P

#8 Adriana on 08.21.09 at 7:07 am

Ouch……errmm, I miss this sometimes. Things like the Elephant House. Or beautiful bouquets…..has to be honest right since you asked?

(What’s the meaning of :”> ? I see more and more of those and searches a lot for all signs…..)

#9 kpriss on 08.21.09 at 7:33 am

It’s a blushing emoticon from YM (I don’t know them all, but sometimes they’re cute ways to express ones emotions).

Now I see what you meant… it’s always good to be honest, you know I value that!

#10 Adriana on 08.21.09 at 7:54 am

Where can find those YM signs cause I love it?
Yes, I know you value honesty and so do I. I got a bit melancholic. Plus I would rather be there since I’m doing my taxes. They steal my money ugh! Loves an emotion sign for “ugh”. I distract myself now and then here and there….;-)

#11 kpriss on 08.21.09 at 8:31 am

:-< - that's a sigh ;) >

I found a list of those ym emoticons here.

But one has to use YM to know what all that is about… so regardless of how much you like those cute faces, you still may be questioned about their significance!

#12 Adriana on 08.21.09 at 10:18 am

Thanks! Their significance? Well, people post those more and more at least I can read them properly?

(Hoi, I did my taxes, is tired, relieved and sooo happy. As a bonus Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is on tv. I’ve had that one on dvd but someone “borrowed” it :-<- and it has been a while I saw it I love that film so much saw the trailer yesterday: irresitible!)

#20 Edgar Mendoza on 08.01.10 at 3:44 pm

Es un proyecto interesante, pero demasiado irreal e inseguro. Seguro duraria poco el hotel.

De cualquier forma es una bonita fantasia.

#21 CeceAmor on 10.08.10 at 9:51 am

i think we have out done outselfs already by building the hotel in dubai, but now we are invading the homes of the undersea wildlife just for money and fame, is this really needed??

#22 malorie on 10.25.10 at 9:01 pm

if anyone can help me with the number to the poseidon undersea resort hotel phone number that would be great i would love to get married there and have my honeymoon there

#23 Roberto on 11.20.10 at 12:49 am

So cool! Im a Marine Biologist and to be honest it doesnt seem to be really “Environmentally intrussive” (considering the actual Resort building techniques…horrible!) the whole structure would be floating, about the rubbish and residuals who knows, but shouldnt be a problem if the owners are smart enough)… Interesting project anyway, hope I can stay and relax there in a near future!

#24 osam esmail on 11.20.10 at 12:36 pm

it’s really amazing

#25 lascoboy on 11.24.10 at 9:35 pm

#26 Gary on 12.19.10 at 4:50 pm

They will have a button there too.. instead of feeding the fish this button will make the nearest fish fart rofls.

#27 Rene on 01.21.11 at 8:38 pm

It is a Idea for The Island Call Katafanga in the Lau Group of Islands in Fiji.
It Was Just One Of The Ideas To Develope The Island.
The Island Is 80% Built, But The Poseidon Idea Has NOT Been Taken Up.
