The New Trendsetter Queen – Amy Winehouse
March 12th, 2008 by kpriss
So it’s finally official – Wino rulz the Fashion Kingdom! The likes of Karl Lagerfeld are handing over the crown to a drug addict, personality disordered young singer.
What could be more wrong with the world? If we are to take advices from Amy Winehouse, then let’s prepare for a fashion: skinnier than ever for whom hairs seems to be a religion (and I’m not talking just the beehive! Have you looked at her arms? Ever?) as well as alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and self injury. Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and the rest of you fashionistas, eat your heart out! You haven’t been drinking enough and haven’t been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder to take fashion by storm!
(the good news? Ballet flats will still go strong; bad news? Skinny jeans!). How do you feel about fashion’s wino future?

Would you Wear Socks with Sandals?
March 11th, 2008 by kpriss
Not to be geeky, but to be glamorous? I’ve seen them here and there on the catwalk, even on the street, now I’ve seen the story in the papers (newsday) so I decided to break the silence on this alliance that I strongly believe to work.
But no one’s really convinced that sandals (or open toes) can make a true match with tights or socks. The tights – sandal fever is going on for 2 years already and people still gush about it.
Don’t know why, really! And most of all, they’re afraid to try! And I’m not talking about wearing tights in the same color as the sandal. That would be so beyond “playing safe” it would be truly playing “I’m too cold to wear a sandal and bare legs”. I don’t think there’s some kind of age barrier stopping someone who wants to sing along that socks-sandals tune. What do you say? Would you? (did you?)
The World’s Most Complicated Pocket Watch – Patek Philippe
March 11th, 2008 by kpriss
It may not be beautiful or stylish, but it is the most complicated pocket watch ever. Made in 1989 for the 150th anniversary of Patek Phillippe, The Calibre 89 has 1789 components.
I wanted you to see it because I found it to be a rare and interesting sight.
Being so complicated and so special, Patek Philippe created only four pieces of the precious pocket watch.
Osman Yousefzada Little Black Dress Collection for Mango
March 11th, 2008 by kpriss
So today we have had the official launch of the Osman Yousefzada’s capsule collection “Little Black Dress” for Mango.
Fast Fashion goes back to black? Or it’s the simplest manner to settle back a sponsorship agreement (mng sponsored Osman’s catwalk). I don’t mind having more black dresses on the market. I’ll just ignore them as usual! But everyone’s making such a fuss about this collection, I had to write about it.
Madonna’s Interview April 2008
March 11th, 2008 by kpriss
When I posted about Madonna doing Dazed and Confused in April, I didn’t thought her insatiable self will also hit Interview magazine.
And not just because it’s another boxing-looking-Madgesty that I’m gonna pass this one out! This time we’re also graced with fragments of actual interview from the upcoming number of the magazine. Interview’s Ingrid Sischy brought Madge to talk about her last album, her adopted son, her daughter and Africa. It all sounds so interesting! Until you get to actually read the lines – Madonna talks about having “psychoanalytic sessions” when writing songs with Justin JT Timberlake for her Hard Candy new album.
Irina Lazareanu the Real Style Icon
March 10th, 2008 by kpriss
Lately I found a new cliché worth settling, cliché that everyone seems to avoid – that Kate Moss is no longer the ultimate trend setter, the highest reference in style. The real one with that style sparkle is Irina Lazareanu.
Thus, after the Kate-Irina friend-story fell into non existence, Kate Moss was left frozen with the current scene from Irina’s style theater – the skinny trend. Ever since, we’re witnessing a permanent skinny Kate – skinny grey jeans, skinny black jeans, almost every piece of Kate’s wardrobe is world wide seen over and over again.
Irina, on the other hand, has evolved (we’re talking fashion, personal life aside) constantly, writing scene after scene in style’s theater. This is one picture I promised I would get posted (taken on the first days of March). I fell in love with that man suit, especially the pants. Now I’m showing them to you and asking you what are your feelings about Irina’s style and about wide leg pants.
Emma Watson at the Sony Ericsson Empire Film Awards
March 10th, 2008 by kpriss
.. or look how even the perfect Hermione Granger can pull a bad spell!
Looking charming as usual, the sweetest innocent face, all cute and smart, Emma Watson graces everyone attending the Sony Ericsson Empire Film Awards in London with her put together ballerina air.
Looking at her you could almost agree with the lack of jewelry… until your eyes block on the left wrist and then on the sandals.
I can understand that she’s having the highest esteem for Burberry, but those sandals, I bet, there were part of either a misspelled charm or the work of a bad wizard. They’re completely out of this movie! Why, Emma, why?
Are you trying a punk-princess look? Did you had a bad day and you sacked your stylist? (if ever?) My eyes hurt when looking at that studded leather cuff and then back at the sandals. I just wish I had a magic wand to fix it all!
