My dahlings? Do you remember when we talked about the controversial fashion show presented under the Saint Laurent Paris label during the Fall 2013 Paris Fashion Week? Do you recall me saying something about that grunge collection making the delight of the one and only Kate Moss?
Well… as it turns out, I was pretty right! Not only did she liked what Hedi Slimane designed for the legendary French maison, but she was wearing one of the designs a day after it hit the catwalk: Kate Moss attended Carine Roitfeld’s CR book launch ball wearing a sheer catsuit from the Saint Laurent Paris Fall 2013 collection!

My curiosity was paid in full, with interest added as I came to discover another publishing pearl: a laid back, casual interview with Sarah Jessica Parker flowing down like a the blues – heavy Mississippi river next to a set of gorgeous, honest photographs by Alexi Lubomirski.

The next chapter of the Hunger Games saga is set to be released this fall (November, to be more precise) but here’s a first look at one of the book / movie’s characters, Effie Trinket.
Being one of the Capitol’s inhabitants, Effie sure is master of over the top fashion looks and so she became one of the most talked – about, inspiring style personas of the saga. Fully demonstrating her eccentric sense of dressing, Effie chose a fire red Alexander McQueen dress from the Fall 2012 collection, with the matching shoes.

Somewhere at the intersection of strict schoolgirl dresscode, Dutch Royalty wardrobe and Valentino’s innocent fashion sensibility lies the new Fall 2013 of the house now under the creative scepter of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Piepaolo Piccioli.
Knowing that the stylists directives for the new season involved black and white fashion with heavy somber air and strict, disciplined cuts, this new Valentino collection is the perfect interpretation. They worked on the ‘Girl With the Pearl Earring’ visuals, both for the clothing and the beauty approach, so we might as well go ahead and call this ‘Valentino’s Dutch show’.

Vogue UK released its April 2013 cover for the fashion masses and, much to everyone’s surprise, on the cover is a close up portrait of bluntly hairstyled Edie Campbell. At just 22 years old, Edie is for the first time on the cover of Vogue magazine, an event which she described as ‘ridiculous’.
It’s not every day that you get to be on the cover of Vogue, so I can understand and appreciate the honesty of her reaction. But! She’s not the only one who finds this cover – although a step in the right direction – uninspired and unappealing. Edie Campbell was styled to look like 60s icon, Twiggy. Is there no other way to introduce a new face but by making it look like an icon of decades past?
Fancy Fashion Pajamas: Fall 2013 Louis Vuitton

I can hardly find a more suitable closure for this Fashion Weeks season but the Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 Collection. And that’s not just because it summed up pretty much all the recommended trends for the next fall season but because it hinted to a certain well – deserved rest after four weeks of runway marathons.
Pajamas and sleepwear comfort on the very catwalk. That can only be sustained by the likes of Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada. But whereas seasons past pajamas involved some heavy mix of prints, mainly geometric, now it’s all about the little flowers and the pretty lace or the nice glitter dips.

You asked me, in absolute righteousness, why, although praising the wearable virtues of some collections presented during the Fashion Week and dismissing other for the same reasons – not being too wearable or street – appealing, why I was ecstatic, season after season, about the McQueen house’s designs!
