Hosiery Trends For Fall Winter 2008 2009

As you may have noticed, the leggings are here to stay! From a serious distance, however, tights are approaching in full speed and full power!

In case you had no idea what to buy and how to wear/match, I got out in the internet’s fishing pond and came back with a handful of trendy tights for your eyes delight and your wardrobe update. I’ll make this funnier, in a form of a questionnaire with answers, all after the jump, exemplified with photos!

Victoria Beckham’s Antonio Berardi Heel Less PVC Boots

When I first saw this picture of Victoria Beckham wearing the over the knee black PVC boots, I couldn’t think about something else but my dream PVC Rodarte like pants.

PVC, like leather pants aren’t easy to pull by any constitution. However, fetishist boots like these ones didn’t cross my mind as an alternative to the PVC pants. Simply because even if your feet may look gorgeous, the leg’s skin is subject to heavy perspiration making it all awkward to wear. (if you look closely, on Posh’s boots there are some blurry areas due to perspiration). (more after the jump!)

Easy Like Simple Living!

Because it sums up many of modern individual’s problems, this photo brought a smile to my face.

I don’t know if it’s real or not, but it surely is an interesting message. Someone who only wants a simple living, just enough to feed his family and make it through without worrying for his dear ones immediate needs, can’t be someone who doesn’t know how to enjoy life and its little charms. I have no social understanding of this ever-wanting-more and forgetting-to-actually-live phenomenon but it’s spreading like a virus. So don’t forget to stop and ask yourself every once in a while what is the cost of your work. The actual cost of your work. And if that helps you or keeps you from living and enjoying your life!

The Chanel Apartment

What marketing magic wand can cross your path and transform your apartment into a Chanel oasis?

Even if the official launch is scheduled for October 10th, the latest Chanel perfume “No. 5 Eau première” had its VIP launch in a more sophisticated an unusual way in a 250 m2 Parisian private apartment. Everything was transformed into a Chanel set by the French interior designer Jean-Marc Gady (who has already worked with Lous Vuitton, Moet and Apple). There were test sprays, photos of Chanel spokefaces (from Mlle Chanel, Marilyn Monroe up until present times to Nicole Kidman). At all times, a fountain sprayed drops of the new fragrance into the air. Honestly, if someone could make my house look like this gorgeous mansion, I’d put it on the marketing market right now! Would You Wear Stella McCartney Melamine East West Clutch?

If you think a suitcase with gold hardware is too much for you, then maybe you should consider Stella McCartney’s Melamine clutch.

It’s made of melamine wood, looks every inch a wooden suitcase but it’s a clutch. Its gold hardware makes it stand out from the clutch crowd and state a natural snobbish air. On a golden plate emplaced on the front of the clutch is embossed with Stella’s name-logo and the interior is made of blue velvet. All stylish and luxurious and yours to take home for $2,795! Would you wear one of those if you could buy it?

Animation Break – Le Ballon

What you’re about to see it’s a short animated movie with a cat head balloon. When I first saw it myself, I thought it was a bit dark and not really my cup of tea.

But I watched it patiently until the end and it wasn’t for nothing. I won’t spoil the fun of watching the animation yourself, but it ends in a very surprising way. It was made for TiJi/Lagardere Active television, it’s called “Le Ballon” and I simply loved it. Not because of the message but because of its vision, its idea. Watch it and tell me what you think! Enjoy!

Vanessa Paradis – Miu Miu Overload

Remember that VP engage Miu Miu ad campaign for Fall Winter 2008 2009? Well, here it goes in full flavor, for you to enjoy the colors and the science fictional layout.

I give in to the thought that frizzy hair is indeed a fashionable hair – here in this campaign’s pictures lies another proof to comfort me when I face that bad frizzy hair day and don’t know how to tame it. Maybe I shouldn’t tame it at all, let it be and I’ll obtain the ultimate fashionable look. There’s something else that bugs me in these campaign – promoting outfits from what seems to be polyester isn’t really what I could call stylish! But the black patent leather shoes look interesting. A downsized and more wearable shoe than its haute brother, the Prada flying shoe (and love the red tights too!) So, after seeing the Vanessa Paradis Miu Miu in full flavor, what’s the aftertaste? (I admit I liked more the spring summer 2008 Miu Miu ad campaign, with Kirsten Dunst!)

Armani Presents Halloween Chocolate!

That’s a way to trick or treat! Armani designed a special Halloween chocolate to be sold starting this week up until the end of October in the Armani/Dolci stores.

If you’re set for this fashionable candy, you’re maybe interested to know what’s supposed to be like: dark chocolate pralines all enclosed in white chocolate coating suggesting a “tiny ethereal ghost” (company’s description). I’ve never tasted the Armani chocolates before. It’s a fashionista’s must to have a taste of Armani/Dolci sweets? Have you already tried it? Is it any good?
