Milla Jovovich Sings On The Soundtrack Of Underground, The Movie
February 12th, 2009 by kpriss
The days of the model-model are long gone. Now every model has to be at least designer, photographer, actor or singer (or the other way around!).
Milla Jovovich is one of those models who’s done fashion design, acting and now she’s into singing. To my greatest surprise I just discovered that Milla’s voice is featured on the soundtrack of the just released movie Underground: Rise Of the Lycans with a wonderful piece sang by The Cure. (more about Milla, the song bird, right after the jump!)

Target MCQ Alexander McQueen Ad Campaign
February 12th, 2009 by kpriss
After seeing the preview of the much awaited collection signed Alexander McQueen for Target, we can now watch the advertising campaign (video).
Made for Target by Peterson Milla Hooks, the ad video was directed by Adria Petty, Dave Peterson (creative director) and Wendy Brown (art director). The song is performed by The Duke Spirit (if you know the name of the song, I’d appreciate the feedback!).
I have to admit the video has a very contemporary, active feeling. After watching it, I had the most playful take on clothes and choosing/wearing an outfit seemed like a game. A fashionable, edgy game. Seeing the preview of the MCQ Collection for Target failed to give me these sensations so I guess the ad really serves its purposes.
Does it make you buy clothes? (more about The Duke Spirit here, or on their website here) (via)
India Arie’s Questionable Jewelry Rope Necklace
February 12th, 2009 by kpriss
India Arie, a young soul artist just released a new album this month. That’s the great news, the bad news comes after looking at lovely India.
Her album release attire was a bit too much. And that’s not because of her clothes. The little black dress, simple, paired with fishnets and black booties came in second when compared to the long necklace made of golden ropes she had on.
The golden jewelry overexposure was in direct competition with the blue stripes she had on her chin. I really can’t make up my mind when it comes to the golden ropes. Is that a Rapunzel or Prison Break inspiration? You be the judge, vote right after the photo! (you can read more about India Arie here) (photo via)

Right Said Fred I’m Too Sexy
February 12th, 2009 by kpriss
Today’s Friday Break is a perfect classic, almost like George Michael’s Freedom ’90. Released in the same period, I’m Too Sexy from Right Said Fred revolves around Fashion so I couldn’t overlook it.
Perfectly nineties, perfectly trendy, this Right Said Fred I’m Too Sexy was re-released in 2007. (you can find the newer version of the song/video right after the jump, as well as information about the song and the band) I’m a model, you know what I mean! Enjoy!

Michelle Obama Does Vogue US March 2009
February 11th, 2009 by kpriss
History in the making has a Vogue cover too! For the March 2009 issue of Vogue US, there’s a gorgeous black cover: The First Lady!
Wrote by André Leon Talley, Michelle Obama’s interview accompany a pictorial signed by Annie Leibovitz, fashion editor Tonne Goodman, sittings editor Alexandra Kotur, hair Johnny Wright and makeup Ingrid Grimes-Myles.
The photos look alive, real, tangible in spite of the stage manufacturing behind every pose.
Those signature Leibovitz-ish lights are unmistakable and the colorful setting adds that joy-factor politics tends to waive from anything.
(don’t miss the rest of the pictures from this soon-historical Vogue issue after the jump!)

Designers For Proper Attire Condoms: Yigal Azrouël and Alexander Wang
February 11th, 2009 by kpriss
I thought the Marc Jacobs condoms issue was a separated incident, without precedent and/or followers. I was so wrong! Here comes Proper Attire!
What sworn fashionista doesn’t dream of Planned Parenthood signed by her favorite designer? That feature really deserved to be mentioned on a golden list of Style To Do-s! (more pictures right after the jump!)

Sarah Jessica Parker In Harper’s Bazaar March 2009
February 11th, 2009 by kpriss
Sarah Jessica Parker needs no introduction to the world’s fashionistas. She is SATC and SATC is SJP.
I doubt there’s no liaison between the tough economic times and the sure value of Sarah Jessica Parker’s on the fashion/media market. The Harper’s Bazaar March 2009 photos take Diana Vreeland as model, shaping Sarah Jessica to measure the most famed fashion editor. (don’t miss the rest of the pictures and a video right after the jump)
