Karen Elson Sings: Karen Elson’s The Ghost Who Walks
April 29th, 2010 by kpriss
Something about models crossing all kinds of artistic territories tells us that maybe, just maybe, modelling is just a phase in someone’s life and, some of them feel the need to move on. Or so I think.
Karen Elson, besides being a gorgeous model is also a singer. Did you know? Her album, called The Ghost Who Walks should sound like this (you can watch the video right after the jump). Which is really not bad at all, considering she has a beautiful voice. You’ll be able to find her new album starting Mai 25 2010. I wonder if she’ll stay on the chanting course or not. Some have made it as far as First Ladies… (via)
Fairy Tales Scarves From Hermes
April 29th, 2010 by kpriss
Hermes is definitely on a fairy tale streak. They just launched four new scarves in the fairy tale scenery they’ve developed these last months.
Whether this was inspired by the success of the Karlie Kloss ad campaign or the other way around, the new four silk beauties talk about legendary characters from our childhood. You’ll easily notice the Princess and the Pea theme on one scarf, a powerful image from the “La vie comme un conte” ad campaign. Which of the four new Hermes scarves is your favorite? (I’m going for the colorful campaign more than either one of the four)
Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba Do Coach Star Totes
April 28th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s one true challenge you’re facing when you’re drawing on white canvas. Especially when it’s for charity! At least that’s my opinion, coming from a non-artistic gifted left/right hand. Or foot, by all means.
Roughly around $400-$600, 60 Coach bags are up for charity but some look more design-friendly than others. Take Kristen Stewart’s Star Tote for example: it looks like a (very) bad joke. Heidi Klum’s Coach Star Tote is just as scary as she is (on a bad hair day) while Amber Valletta’s Coach Star Tote is colorful and inviting. Dolls. The Artistic Way. By Chris Jordan

A day without Barbie is not a happy day! So I’m bringing you the Barbie Doll back (we should have a Barbie/day thing, just like the Converse!)
Now since I gave you a serious hint as to what’s next, take a look at Chris Jordan’s artistic installation and tell me what you see! (you can click the image for a larger view!) and then click through to discover the true meaning of this oeuvre exhibited for the first time in 2008!
Joss Stone’s Nine West Vintage America Shoes Collection
April 28th, 2010 by kpriss
This very fall, you’ll be lucky enough to wear (if you want to, of course) one of Joss Stone’s shoes from “her” collection for Nine West. Being one of my favorite (accessible) brands, I was naturally interested to see what she’d bring new for their designs.
And was much surprised (even if I shouldn’t have been, considering it’s just another celeb-collection out there) to find out that the new Vintage America Collection Fall 2010 was inspired by Joss Stone’s tattoos. Actually designed by Nine West’s Creative Director Fred Allard, the shoes will incorporate metal accessories, embossing, patchwork, plaid and fringe. That’s good news! And by the looks of this bootie they’re holding in the following image, I’ll be willing to forget that there’s a “Joss Stone” design to this collection. Wouldn’t you? (Nine West via People)

Rick Owens Furniture
April 28th, 2010 by kpriss
Yesterday we talked about the wonderful, life-full Missoni Aalto chair. And the sun was up, shining upon us, everybody was smiling happily. Today I thought I’d bring you something different. Radically different: Rick Owens furniture!
It’s definitely artsy and fancy, in dark manner, pretentiously and snobbishly described as “sleek Darth Vader-meets-Brancusi black-and-white marble lamps” while if you’re looking at them (these lamps, biensur) you’ll simply notice some giant (white or black concrete or marble pills – not academic to figure out where he might have found the inspiration for those!) hanging on the wall or standing tall on the floor. Rick Owens furniture pieces were featured in a book (“New Paris Interiors”) so it’s an established fact: Rick Owens furniture is something special. Repetto Boots Fall Winter 2010
April 28th, 2010 by kpriss
As I’ve already made my confessions, I’m a (very) high heels girl. It’s either that or (very) flat soles. However, when it comes to actual foot comfort, there’s a so much to say about both kinds. And it’s so hard to find the right arch support, the right sole construction to meet your own structure’s needs.
Especially when it comes to dancing! Dancing shoes should be your most comfy shoes. I usually went dancing wearing my Converse sneakers. Just to be sure! Now I’m having second thoughts while looking at Repetto’s Fall Winter 2010 collection. Would dance shoes specialists make better shoes even for day-to-day chores? And did you know Repetto was making boots? I mean flats, yes, I know. Who hasn’t heard of Repetto’s ballerina shoes? Meanwhile, who has heard of Repetto’s knee high boots? (via)
Burberry’s April Showers 2010 Collection
April 28th, 2010 by kpriss
Putting together Burberry and rainy days makes just as much sense as associating Burberry with the tartan print. Thus, Burberry’s April Showers collection is as natural as the actual April Showers.
Colorful, waterproof (said to be), young and appealing, Burberry’s April Showers Collection is comprised of polo tees, trenches, dresses, vests, umbrellas and bags, anything to keep you dry and happy under the pouring rain. The only thing is that you’ll have to count $200 to $800 for simple items like the umbrella or the large tote. Too bad for Burberry if you ask me! I just love how my hair looks after a short rain shower! Minus the expenses! (more images and a video right after the jump!) (via)
