Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Nights Perfume

Time has passed and we’re at that moment again: another celebrity is launching yet another perfume. With yet another highly elaborated retouched ad print to represent the perfume in question.

Jessica Simpson goes for a catchy name like Fancy Nights for her (already?) third perfume (all Fancy – something). It’s an evening perfume, with notes of bergamot, Egyptian papyrus (wait, what?), Indonesian patchouli, Bulgarian red rose, night-blooming jasmine. Priced at $49 for the 1.7 oz. edp, Fancy Nights is a bit too spicy in my book. I would have approved if there was a better artwork representing the perfume, but in this ad’s case, the distorted image (is it just me, or her head looks bubble-ish larger than her body?) aka the bad desktop publisher job doesn’t motivate me to pay $50 for the product itself. Do you feel different about it? I know, it should be about the scent, but the image is just as important, right? (via 1, 2)

Tavi Gevinson At War Against Terry Richardson!

While Tavi sometimes raises my eyebrows, I have to stand up for an honest round of applause this time! Yes, in Tavi’s honor!

Remember those sleazy truths about Terry Richardson making surface and then being instantly submerged by all the fashionpeople vowing for his respectability? That nearly killed my good mood few days in a row. Fashion is not for the sensitive. They all must have developed crocodile-thick skins and the morality needles don’t come through anymore. Luckily, a 14-yo still sees clear. She sees through you. We all know you don’t care, Terry, but we do, don’t we? (you can read Tavi’s article here photo via)

Aquatalia By Marvin K Giggle Rainboots

Every time I think about rainboots, I can’t help but think about wellies. And not just any wellies – Hunter, please! That’s how I see rainboots. Sure, I’d be heartbroken if I had a pair of Jimmy Choo Hunters and I’d had to take them out in the actual dirt, but let’s keep the Hunters in mind, for any rainy day.

Aquatalia by Marvin K rainboots look ready to confront the rainy days, as far as the asphalt goes. When your modern road has ended and the concrete kingdom is no more, you’ll have your Aquatalia by Marvin K high heeled Giggle rainboots and the mud. Which makes me come back to where we came from – Hunter, baby! That’s how you keep positive when you look at all that mud! So if you want to keep tall in the city rain, yes, consider the Aquatalia by Marvin K Giggle boots! (scooping their website, I actually came across few models which would be more suited for that rain and mud combo I was talking about earlier. You can see those right after the jump!) How do you keep the rain away? (via)

Kenzo’s 40th Anniversary Shopping Bag

Going for a groceries run with a Kenzo bag is not little thing! Especially when that particular bag is an anniversary issue!

Kenzo celebrates its 40th anniversary by issuing a special shopping bag with flowers details (which looks pretty much like a LV Sprouse if you ask me) and by fall they’ll be releasing a knitting kit. It’s for all those who can buy a $500 bag for groceries purposes only and spend their days knitting. Not. (via)

10 Fashion Gods About Their Woman

Gathering round the fashion gods to talk about women is something quite exceptional. 10 Magazine managed the round table for their 10th anniversary. They chose 10 designers to grace each of their celebratory covers.

How did they chose just 10 out of the oh-so-many significant designers out there? Beats my logic. However, the magic 10 are: Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford, Alber Elbaz, John Galliano, Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace, Helmut Lang, Azzedine Alaia, Ralph Lauren. Reading their stories and how they talk “About their woman” would be so much more interesting than the covers! Would you say that their fashion talk about their woman? Or just their artistic personalities? (10 via FGR)

Norma Kamali For Wal – Mart Collection

I’m looking at this tee for two days already and I’m telling you – it’s haunting! Besides being almost hypnotizing when you stare at it, it just sticks with you, in your head. It did so with me.

Sure, it’s Christopher Kane – similar, however, there’s something more you should be aware of when thinking about Norma Kamali’s Wal-Mart collection: it’s budget friendly (unlike other essentials we talked about) and gorgeous all at once! And really, that eagle tank top (which only retails for $8 and can be found more likely online than in store) is such a fine piece of garment! Say it isn’t (and bring some solid arguments to sustain that, otherwise I’m compelled to give in to the obvious: Norma Kamali’s Wal-Mart collection really rocks!) (via)

Pamela Anderson’s Statue By Marc Quinn

We’ve seen Kate Moss, twice. He has even done Angelina Jolice. Michael Jackson. It’s now time to see Pamela Anderson. Twice also! Marc Quinn is a stubborn artist. He loves his celebrities and he loves casting them in bronze!

As if the world wasn’t pleased with just one Pamela Anderson, Marc Quinn’s statue of hers shows not one but two Pamela Anderson. It’s the very culture of the world we’re living in because, explains Quinn, “what Pamela has done is use surgery and transformation within the mainstream cultural context, whereas everyone else in the show has struck out on their own.”. Marc Quinn is the artist of vanities and empty values. And for that, the world loves him so! Do you? (via)
