Adidas Y – 3 Torsion Heel By Yohji Yamamoto
July 28th, 2010 by kpriss
How many high heels shoes have you seen me praise around here? How about sneakers? One-too many, huh? Yeah, well today it’s no different. Maybe. A little. The Torsion Heel by Adidas Y – 3 aims to destroy my love for both high heels shoes and sneakers.
With an unnaturally bizarre looking sneaker-high heel, Adidas hopes to conquer this particularly coveted market section with a little help from Johji Yamamoto. Even though they say they have technology on their side (morphing technology you normally find in athletic shoes into 9cm high heels shoes), I deeply resent the shape and the aesthetics of these…um.. how should we call them? (wait, you think this is all they came up with? Wait till you see what’s waiting for you after the jump!) (Adidas via)
What Lipstick For Men?
July 28th, 2010 by kpriss
Now if you ask me that question, I’ll just pop-up, impolitely and quite aggressively saying “No lipstick whatsoever for my man!”. But I’m not the only voice that should be raised to answer this question, so I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion!
Men and lipstick just don’t make good home in my view. My vision of a man is seriously similar to one you get a glimpse at in those old Marlboro Country ads. Rough. Worked, working hard. Man-ish. Times have changed and the metro man now is just another way to describe the effeminate man. Lipstick? What’s next? Borrowing those pink silk lady shavers? (I know it’s delicately put, I know it’s dangerously close to the edge – but I’m carefully trying not to touch the gay-section of men here. I’m just talking straight men wearing lipstick. Are there any out there?) (photos via)

Daria Werbowy, Ellettra Wiedermann For Lancome Fall 2010 Ad Campaign
July 28th, 2010 by kpriss
Not long ago we’ve seen Julia Roberts and her ad print campaign for Lancome. Now here’s another look at the Lancome Fall Winter 2010 2011 ad campaign. This time featuring Daria Werbowy and Elettra Wiedermann.
Retro, glam, photoshop. That’s how I would describe this image in just three words. The girls look gorgeous, however, I’d love me some reality when talking cosmetics. Wouldn’t you? (they say lovely Arlenis Sosa is also part of this campaign. However, images with her haven’t surged yet, still waiting, hoping they’ll nail it right the next time) (photo via)

LED Sneakers Light Your Way
July 28th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s this wild wild fight out there to create uniqueness in the uniformity swamp we’re all living in, fashion-wise. If, let’s say, the Y brand comes out with something revolutionary this week, the W brand will release something entirely similar the next one and so forth.
Moritz Waldemeyer, however, has this special gift of taking something that already exists on the market and make it new and entirely unique. His magic is the LED. His latest? A pair of sneakers from Creative Recreations with flexible LED panels. Now I guess you’ll be asking yourselves “Yeah, I bet they look great with lights on, how about when they’re turned off. Should I only keep these sneakers for night outings?”. Well, the answer is no! This is one Cinderella show you’ll want to wear all day long too. Because you’re worth it! Take a look right after the jump! (via)
How To Apply Your Eyeliner The New Trends
July 27th, 2010 by kpriss
We talked about goth and rock’n’roll chic being the big fall retour of our style references. Now I know about the hair. I can suspect the clothing goes from dark to dark-er and if you’re really a fashionista, you’ll have a completely dark-ish wardrobe.
But do you know how to put on your makeup before taking that dark-ish attitude out to town? Eh? Got you there, didn’t I? Well let’s take it one step at the time: you’re at your home, comfy and ready to go out with your dark clothes, slick hair and darkittude. Your faithful blacker than hell eyeliner in one hand, looking fierce back at you from the mirror is… your makeupless self. Ready? Hit the jump to find out how it’s really done!

Iman Helps You Redecorate Your House
July 27th, 2010 by kpriss
Something about supermodels and the home interiors business tells me it’s not a coincidence that Iman has her own line of fabrics – Iman Home. In collaboration with P/K Lifestyles, a division of P/Kaufmann (and available this very September in Calico Corners and Calico Home stores), the new fabrics look amazing and sound inviting.
Iman actually was an active part of the creative process, especially with the names:“I had all the fabrics in front of me. Istanbul Sunset reminded me of a Rothko painting, but it also reminded me of Turkey. All of the naming took a day and a lot of Googling. I wanted to find, for instance, where peacocks are from. It’s hard to brainstorm, but once you start going, you get in a groove. I wanted to call the solids Paparazzi, but Lady Gaga already took that, so I went with Glitterati.”
The outcome? 15 decorative fabrics grouped in Urban Eclectic and Modern Glamour: Alexandria Scroll, Alhambra Amour, Assyrian Vine, Deauville Dance, Glitterati, Istambul Sunset, Java Moon, Punjab Peacock, Sultana Lattice, Zebra Oasis. Sounds interesting? (via 1, 2, 3)
