Natalia Vodianova’s Etam Fall Winter 2010 Collection Ad Campaign
August 4th, 2010 by kpriss
When are we? Yep, I pretty much want to know what year it is! Because right now, I’m disturbed! Every time I look at Natalia Vodianova, I feel like time is either standing still (for her) or that it’s an old photoshoot or, finally, that the years going by don’t leave a mark on her.
How’s that possible? Look at her face! With all the photoshop in the world, and still she has that teen look in her eyes, that youth freshness on her face! Natalia, please, do share you secrets (and don’t say it’s just good genes, I’d like an honest chance at turning back the clock too)! We’d greatly appreciate it! Until then, let’s enjoy Natalia Vodianova’s Etam Fall Winter 2011 ad campaign (Natalia’s fourth collection for the French lingerie label, inspired by all things Russian – Tzarina, Nuit Blanches, Conte de fee). Jessica Simpson Gets Her Lucky Photoshop For September 2010
August 4th, 2010 by kpriss
I know, I know! You’ll tell me what else is new? Photoshop for a magazine cover is just as common as a quick storm in a hot summer day (oh, I wish for rain right now! Instead I’ll just have to settle for some photoshop cold shower).
So who’s the Lucky airbrush winner for the September 2010 cover? Jessica Simpson! It doesn’t look as obvious as that on the cover (because of the writing optically balancing the bubble head), but if you take a look at the photo following right after the jump, you’ll have the feeling (just like I did) that they photographed a bubble-head doll instead of living, breathing Jessica Simpson! How blind are we supposed to be? (via)

Prada’s Knitted Leather Bags For Fall 2010
August 4th, 2010 by kpriss
How do you feel about knitted bags? How about leather knitted bags? Prada is coming at you hard this fall with knitted bags!
Judging by the success they’ve had with their blossom line, I’m inclined to believe the new Fall Winter 2010 2011 knitted bags will be just as contagious. And why not? They look vintage enough to make believe they’ve been around for ages, they’re crafty enough to make any diy-er out there try to pick up the challenge and they’re just as luxurious as needed for these sorrowed economical times (if Chanel can ask $3,400 for their classic flap bag, I’m sure a $4,500 Prada knitted tote will look just fine, not to mention the $2,600 clutch!). Hit the jump to see the small size knitted one and make your fashdecision. Hot or flop? (via)
Karl Lagerfeld Takes His Summer Wardrobe To Town
August 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
Karl Lagerfeld takes his uberglam persona and his white summer wardrobe out for a walk in St Tropez. Besides the naval-themed outfit (with the navy blue pants and white shirt, white boots, white blazer), the Kaiser brings something new to the scene: the silver gloves and the skinny tie.
I mean – when have you seen the Kaiser wearing a skinny tie? And those fingertips-less silver gloves? Just how creepy is that? Hiding the effects of the years on you isn’t going to dodge the aging. It’s just going to make it more ridiculous. Uncle Karl, we still love your fashion deeds beyond your wrinkles! (photo via)
More Amazing Tattoos
August 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
As the days go by, my eyes feel the unique pleasure of seeing some pretty outstanding ink works. It’s almost sartorial, since you can always choose to wear your tattoo like some permanent skin outfit.
From a pretty special tattooed earring to the Converse logo inked on both legs right above the ankles, not many tattoos are as complex as the couture garter featured right after the jump! We’ve seen tattoos taking the catwalk by storm, we’ve seen tattoos breaking records and rules. Still, I’m forever amazed by the new models and designs people put on their skin. What’s the most amazing tattoo you’ve ever seen? (via)
Abbey Lee Kershaw By Ryan McGinley Controversial Video Ad
August 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
Now let me show you (another example of) just why I’m disappointed with the fashworld and the fashpeople when they’re trying to fed us with their “vision” of what is glam and trendy.
Below is a video signed by Ryan McGinley, starring Abbey Lee Kershaw. It’s an ad campaign, actually, for Lewitt, a South Korean label. And because Asian markets seem so different from ours (fighting against the very economical crisis current by pumping up the luxury sales while everyone else in the world swims to calmer seas consumerism-wise), I could be tempted to give this ad a little credit. (don’t miss the video right after the jump!)
Kate Moss Does Vogue UK September 2010
August 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
Fashion-wise, it seems Kate Moss is the most precious, relevant thing in the UK. She’s covering the September 2010 issue of Vogue (making this her 30th Vogue cover ever) and she brings nothing new by doing so.
Kate Moss, the ultimate fashion’n rock star, as photographed by Patrick Demarcherlier gives us another pretext to pick on Vogue’s (UK or US) obsessions. Whether it’s about movie stars or Kate Moss, Vogue editors have their weaknesses and that shows.
The Moss Factor fails to bring something substantial to the fashion scene. By now we know everything by heart, every possible twist of Moss photography. I wish there was something more original in this pictorial, something more appealing than the certified charm of Kate Moss doing her rock chick thing. Are we at that point where only the safe choice sells? (photos via)
Visionaire. Lee Alexander McQueen
August 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
This tribute imagined by Visionaire to honor Alexander McQueen’s creativity and talent is so appropriate and artsy, I can’t help but dreaming at it with my eyes wide open.
Especially when I see that beautiful, couture-ish cover, I can only suspect they’ve put some magical things inside. It actually was a project McQueen had talked about with the Visionaire people. Sadly, it never came to reality. It never got the time to. Now this tribute is a collection of visions from Steven Klein, Nick Knight, Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Inez and Vinoodh, Mario Sorrenti and more.
