Sonia Rykiel Maison 2011 Collection
September 5th, 2010 by kpriss
I was actually thinking the other day about coordinated bathroom textiles (that’s the academic way of calling matching and color coordinating towels). And more like this. No, I’m not doing this to align myself and my home decoration to the fall season (though I’m convinced there are others out there who actually do it). It’s part of the nesting symptom that’s catching up with my (yes, Adriana, you nailed it) pretty impressive baby bump – wearing self.
Now getting over the nesting thing (I basically re-nest every day after the kids finish their playing hours) and taking the fashion nesting road: have you seen the 2011 collection from Sonia Rykiel Maison? I did and I really appreciated what I saw! Come, come, hit the jump to see more and larger images, I feel you’ll be convinced by the Rykiel home aesthetics as well!
Lady Gaga And Nick Knight’s The Left Eye
September 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
Remember we talked about this series of short puzzle movies meant to put together visions of the Fashion Body? And remember I told you there was going to be one particular short movie signed by Lady Gaga herself?
I promise, the day I’ll get the nouveau way of doing and representing art, I’ll be an accomplished spirit! Artistically speaking, at least! Because this “Left Eye” art by Gaga and Nick Knight looks so… not art at all! Come, come, take a look, tell me what you think! I give you my word. It’s a short one! (via)

Simon Baker, A Real Life Mentalist?
September 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
I always wondered what I would ask someone (famous) if ever given the chance. Would I even go as far as to open my mouth and say something? Would the words come out? Tough one!
I used to be this shy kid, serious about school and home works (you can call me geeky if you like. I didn’t like it back then but I sure do appreciate it now. You can even get away with calling me nerd-ish). Still I would have gladly worked my way around socializing. Talking to people felt so awkward. So let’s pretend for a second that I would have this assignment. This interview. With Simon Baker. And that I would have to actually talk to him. Ask him things. What would you ask him if you had this assignment? (do hit the jump, who knows when and how this might end?)
Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs On Jimmy Fallon
September 3rd, 2010 by kpriss
What would you be willing to do just to get people out shopping (if you were a designer, that is? Fashion’s Night Out, the night you have to go shop, shop shooooop! is just around the corner (September 10th) so, naturally, because she can’t get a magazine cover just to promote that (what am I saying? Of course she can, she can do anything, she’s Anna Wintour!), Anna the great took the Jimmy Fallon Couch with Marc Jacobs to promote the said FNO.
The more I look at videos like this, the more I feel convinced people don’t know what lies behind the Fashion Industry. For real. Questions like “what’s the new black” and “what’s your fall line” when they’re getting ready to present the spring season sound a bit offbeat. Is it worth watching? Yes, it is. Anna is complete socialite and she makes a perfect liaison of fashion’s wide weird world with the current reality and normal people. Doesn’t she?
Ready For MAC Venomous Villains Makeup Collection For Disney?
September 2nd, 2010 by kpriss
Ever since they canceled their Rodarte makeup collection, I was rooting for some MAC related news that’ll make me refill the love and makeup admiration I had for them. So this MAC Venomous Villains Makeup Collection for Disney comes to the rescue!
Not because I love the dark forces of Disney (though they do have their particular charm) but because the collection looks stunning. Cruella de Vil, Snow White’s Evil Queen, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and Princess and the Frog’s DR. Facilier teamed up for a nasty looking, utterly tempting makeup collection you’d want to have in your beauty case this fall! (hit the jump for more looks and details!)
Lady Gaga, Marc Jacobs, Marina Abramovic, Tyson Ballou V67 The NY Issue
September 2nd, 2010 by kpriss
How do you learn diplomacy? I’m not really good at it. I just think and then fire away. Which is not the best one can do. Especially when talking about Marc Jacobs and Lady Gaga.
People seem to love these two no matter what. I think they’re trying too much sometimes. Especially Gaga. She’s the epitome of trying too much. Why V Magazine chose these two for their Fall 2010 67 issue, the New York Issue beats my immediate logic. Sure, the cover reads Fashion and Art in the most exciting city on Earth!, sure I could be fooled by the fashion and art principles as to overcome my disapproval of Gaga being in any way meaningful to NY, the States or any other State on Earth. But no-oh. Not me! (don’t miss the other three covers right after the jump!)

Miranda Kerr’s Baby Bump
September 2nd, 2010 by kpriss
Didn’t you miss a good old fashioned baby bump watch? I sure did! Especially when it’s about an early second trimester baby bump, much unlike mine, a last trimester, truly impressive one. First trimesters, second trimesters are pure delight to watch and to wear, take my word for it! And even if you don’t, take a look at Miranda Kerr’s lovely baby bump below!
The image was taken from Miranda Kerr’s Kora video – a short clip where she talks about her organic cosmetics line, Kora and the benefits you get when using the organic way of life. It’s nice to watch and listen to (you can do so right after the jump), Miranda is pretty convincing and serene, without revolving around tired and annoying speech clichés. And that baby bump is adorable, isn’t it? (via)
Lanvin Collection For H & M This Fall!
September 2nd, 2010 by kpriss
Just when it was falling off graces (at least the graces of me own wardrobe), H & M comes with a surprising teaser hinting to a new designer collaboration. And that collaboration, the fashindustry said, it’s none the other than Lanvin.
In the sacred new tradition of the fash teaser of getting away with not explaining anything, the new H&M Designer Collaboration for the Fall 2010 sounds Very Melodramatic indeed (you can see the video and another one with Alber Elbaz himself explaining why he accepted the collaboration after the jump). Hopefully it will all be clear on September 9, when there will come with more video material to explain the new H & M Lanvin designer collection. (that’s a good alternative since I went to the Gap over the weekend and was sincerely disappointed by the looks of the Black Magic Collection. I’m hoping to get more feedback from you, but my first impression was “cheap”.) (wwd via)
