Marion Cotillard Is Lady Dior Lady Grey London. The Movie
December 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember when we talked about Lady Dior’s Lady Grey London episode? The last from the Lady Dior saga, also starring Marion Cotillard? We finally have the officially released film by John Cameron Mitchell. Starring not only Marion but also the amazing Ian McKellan and Russell Tovey.
This fourth movie, also the final of the Lady Dior saga is supposed to capture and expose the secrets one little Dior bag can hold. The bag aims at the “most covetable” title with little respect for the competition, ruthlessly crushing any other brand bag by imagining these four short films and bringing them to life with the help of some of today’s most respected directors. Manish Arora For Nespresso CitiZ, Limited Edition
December 9th, 2010 by kpriss
This makes a proud addition to the pretty reckless but designer stuffed Christmas list. Just in case you find useful to buy a $530 Nespresso CitiZ machine.
Reskined by Manish Arora with colorful and fantastic motifs, the new Nespresso CitiZ by Manish Arora tells a magical story too. It’s all happening in a far far away kingdom (Swig) governed by the Bacchitarius. Like any other respected and respectful rulers, Bacchitarius is a reputed hunter. He’s hunting young ladies eager to become queens. So he finds Nespresso, a girl who quietly threw pebbles in a brow hot spring who soon became his queen and gave him 16 daughters (with noble missions to spread their love and fragrance around the world). I wonder what they really put in that Nespresso machine instead of caffeine! (either way – the Manish Arora Nespresso CitiZ is sold exclusively in the Nespresso Boutique from the notorious avenue des Champs-Elysées – yep, that’s in Paris) (via)
Rodarte Sisters Edited Lula Fall Winter 2010
December 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember when the Rodarte sisters said they felt ever – so inspired by movies like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I think their gore repertoire encompasses way more than just that. If we’re to believe the sight of Kirsten Dunst, as styled by Kate and Laura Mulleavy in Lula, the Fall Winter 2010 2011 issue, the sisters have a sweet horror tooth.
Editing the magazine (just like Tom Ford did with Vogue Paris), Laura and Kate did more than styling Kirsten (and photographing the results with the help of their friend Autumn de Wilde). They also dressed Charlotte Gainsbourg for another Lula pictorial and got Tavi and Sofia Coppola to contribute. It makes a pretty iconic 11th issue, if you ask me! More appealing than Ford’s Vogue Paris… (click through to discover more images, click here for the gallery!) (Lula via)

Liya Kebede Is Waris Dirie In Desert Flower
December 9th, 2010 by kpriss
So many models out there trying to make a perfectly happy transition from modeling to something else. Music, television, movies. How many really succeed in making a name, a career outside the fashion magazines, catwalks, ad campaigns?
I’m hoping Liya Kebede could be one of those lucky gorgeous women who can be more than just models. She’s playing Waris Dirie in the upcoming movie Desert Flower. I watched the trailer several times already and I admit I am more and more fascinated by Liya and her beauty which seems to come from the interior more than the outer shell. I won’t tell you more about the movie, the trailer is self explanatory (working against my beliefs already by inviting you to watch the trailer to a movie you haven’t already seen. I had to make an exception with Liya, you’ll see why). So tell me, after watching it – what say you – isn’t she something else? (via)
Karolina Kurkova’s Mercedes Benz Campaign
December 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Associating beautiful women and expensive / fast cars has become such a used cliché over the marketing years, the present collaboration fails to surprise me.
Karolina Kurkova just took off her impressive angel wings and got behind the wheel of an equally impressive Mercedes Benz CLS coupé. Illustrating the image of the brand in photos shot by Craig McDean, Karolina’s ads will be officially launched in the same time as the Berlin Fashion Week – January 2011. Too bad by the time the New York Fashion Week will kick in (February 2011), these will already be du passé by fashion standards. Why don’t they come up with a new set of ads for every fashion week? Just to keep up with the times and the frivolity of the fashmarkets? (via)
Ellen Von Unwerth Is Crazy For Eva
December 8th, 2010 by kpriss
This wouldn’t have passed my vice censorship commission. However, it’s Vs. Magazine. I always indulge myself in a case of fashion morals oblivion when it comes to Vs. .
What they did this time to immerse my positive fashion self in ecstatic admiration? Crazy for Eva. It’s a short video directed by Ellen von Unwerth and starring Eva, Eva Mendes (and Syrie Moskowitz as the nurse). Is it just me (and my admiration for almost anything Vs) or this comes across as sunny and truly madly deeply fashionable, despite of Eva acting like a loony tune (in Fassbinder’s true spirit, the film being inspired by one of Fassbinder’s films – Die Sehnsucht der Veronika Voss)?

Keira Knightley’s Vogue UK January 2011
December 7th, 2010 by kpriss
I was wondering about Vogue UK and what they’ll come up with to cover January 2011. Keira Knightley. That’s what! And, to my surprise, she’s looking fresh like a rose and lovely like an angel.
Photographed by Mario Testino wearing pieces from Miu Miu, Sonia Rykiel, Prada and Marni, Keira looks grown up and classy. She even ditched her usual pout, which doubles the class in my opinion. And even if I think her Vogue appearance is no coincidence and it’s surely because she has some new movie to promote, I have to admit I like Keira’s cover (I’m still uncertain about her pictorial – it looks pretty strange – click through and take a look yourself; click here for the gallery!). How about you? (Vogue via)

Lanvin Playing Cards, Playful Christmas Present
December 7th, 2010 by kpriss
I was thinking about getting a present for someone who’s very haute design oriented and even if I initially imagined a mug or something similar could be a good idea, today I think I may have found the perfect gift. Lanvin Faces Playing Cards (two decks).
With Lanvin Loves H & M already a sold out (at least for the best parts of the collection), Lanvin Faces Playing Cards could be your chance to get a piece of authentic Lanvin under $100 – the two decks set costs $85. They fancy package is wrapped in a printed paper and comes with a bag equally face printed. How can you resist such haute playfulness? (N-a-P via)
