Pharrell Williams’ Home
December 16th, 2010 by kpriss
How does your dream home look like? Two days now I keep daydreaming about a sofa that’s as “cheap” as a car so it comes pretty natural to stare in awe at Pharrell Williams’ home. If I can adventure myself as far as calling that a “home” and not a museum.
…you have to admit that Pharell‘s house (at least from what we can see in these images) it looks like a museum. A Kaws and Murakami museum spiced with Vuitton trunks. With an amazing view. The Selby was in Pharrell’s place. And he’s got the pictures to prove it. I’m left daydreaming as I was. How about you? Does this resemble your dream home? Lanvin Cotton Python Bag
December 15th, 2010 by kpriss
I was hoping that the summer bag from Lanvin we’ve seen a while back was the only Lanvin – Lanvim accident we were going to see for the next season. I was wrong.
Lanvin really thinks this is the next big thing for them as a company, to seemingly misspell the maison’s name, even unintentional as it really is. Come to think about it, it’s actually a declaration of courage and a style statement in true power since I would probably avoid being seen with such a bag to the point of actually not buying it so it’s challenging for Lanvin to make these bags covetable. It’s screaming kitsch from every pore of its $660 cotton python print. I wonder how much luxury did Alber Elbaz really brought to H & M and how much cheap-attitude he bestowed back on his own house…
January Jones Versace Spring Summer 2011 Campaign
December 15th, 2010 by kpriss
When you first heard that January Jones was designated as the Versace woman of the decade and that she’ll be gracing the haute company’s ad campaigns for the next season, how did you mentally imagined she’ll be looking for the occasion?
Because you see, if your overfed with Mad Men imagination was thinking about something in the Mad Men style … and not much else, you were daylight right! Take a look at what Mario Testino photographed for the Versace Accessories Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign: Mad Men’s January Jones uncovered. Literally! Isn’t this something else? (it’s my imagination running wild, or she’s looking like Gisele?) (photos via)

Cartier Winter Tale
December 15th, 2010 by kpriss
What is it with jewelry companies and baby felines? After seeing Julianne Moore and those adorable lion cubs, it’s Cartier’s turn to make it about wild cats and precious stones.
Their latest ad campaign – Winter Tale – involves the little panther out and about in what seems to be a fantastic jewelry Iceland where it snows, mind you, upside down. Because you see, in Cartier Jewelry Iceland, you find panthers under the Christmas tree and the snowflakes fly up, up and away. Just like your money would if entering the Cartier Jewelry and more Iceland. Ready? Go! (Cartier via)

Cindy Crawford Without Makeup
December 14th, 2010 by kpriss
Why would she need any makeup you’d say – it’s Cindy Crawford, after all, Cindy Crawford, one of the supermodels. She doesn’t need makeup to look great. And still – I think you know more women who don’t go out for groceries with that little makeup on! And they’re not in danger of meeting a dozen paparazzi just round the corner.
Keep it natural, it’s the best. For the skin you’re in, for the people around you. If Cindy can do it, so can you! (photos via)
No Iron Clothing Is Toxic?
December 14th, 2010 by kpriss
Wrinkle free clothing could be a time saver, momentarily, but on the long run, these magic clothes may prove dangerous. Why? Because recent studies have discovered that what keeps these clothes away from the iron is formaldehyde.
What’s formaldehyde and why should we fear it? Formaldehyde is a colorless gas, flammable at room temperature. It has a distinct odor and, if exposed to in high concentrations, it may cause a burning sensation to the eyes, nose, and lungs. Though it can also be found in the food we eat and even our bodies produce it, formaldehyde is widely used in construction materials, disinfectants, cosmetics and clothing.
Currently linked to cancer and leukemia and most definitely being one of the causes for allergic contact dermatitis, formaldehyde seems to be everywhere around us. From the houses we live in, the cars we drive to the deodorants and nail polish we use. Being around and even using all those products, being dressed with clothing items, like these wrinkle – free clothes containing formaldehyde could prove dangerous for our health. How do you deal with these hidden dangers? Do you really believe products as simple as shampoos can really be dangerous for our health? (via)
Natalie Portman’s Vogue US January 2011
December 13th, 2010 by kpriss
Natalie Portman on the cover of Vogue? It’s a wonderful actress, very gifted (besides being really, really pretty) who was lucky enough to try on a vast portfolio of roles. And now she’s taking the Vogue US cover for January 2011 (as photograph by Peter Lindbergh and wearing a J Mendel dress).
I think it hit me why Anna Wintour goes for celebs for her covers. She only picks the celebs of the moment, those who are in high fashion during that print – month. And Natalie Portman owns the spotlight with that Darren Aronofski Black Swan movie! I wonder why they felt the need to plump her lips… Oh well. And what’s with that “Why we get fat” story? Wasn’t Natalie enough to sell the magazine? They had to go for such a cheesy cover line? (photo via)

D & G Ski Mask For Glamorous Skiing
December 13th, 2010 by kpriss
Skiing just got a bit more glamorous, more blingy and fancy. It seems that if you take any object and cover it in Swarovski Crystals, it instantly raises the value and the global appreciation for the said object.
Today’s case study is a ski mask. D & G got the ordinary ski mask and glammed it up by applying (by hand) 2,500 Swarovski Crystals and releasing it in a limited edition. Declined in four colors from silver to red, the new D & G ski mask can also be found in a pack edition, with a very shiny, quilted glasses flexible case. It may not be the next big thing, but due to those Swarovski implants, this D & G ski mask got Anna dello Russo’s attention. Wouldn’t you care to bling up for the slopes also? (D & G via)
