Natalie Portman’s Vogue US January 2011

Natalie Portman on the cover of Vogue? It’s a wonderful actress, very gifted (besides being really, really pretty) who was lucky enough to try on a vast portfolio of roles. And now she’s taking the Vogue US cover for January 2011 (as photograph by Peter Lindbergh and wearing a J Mendel dress).

I think it hit me why Anna Wintour goes for celebs for her covers. She only picks the celebs of the moment, those who are in high fashion during that print – month. And Natalie Portman owns the spotlight with that Darren Aronofski Black Swan movie! I wonder why they felt the need to plump her lips… Oh well. And what’s with that “Why we get fat” story? Wasn’t Natalie enough to sell the magazine? They had to go for such a cheesy cover line? (photo via)

Sorry but with this plumped lips Natalie doesn’t look like herself. I wouldn’t have recognized her. Why did they do this to someone who’s natural pretty? I hope this is really photoshop and not Natalie’s new face!

I saw photos of the inside shoot: far more like the Natalie we know, no plumped lips and she looks gorgeous. :)

I wonder : Vogue did it on purpose?

Is it some kind of Keira ( Vogue UK) vs Natalie (Vogue US)?

Natalie Portman is lovely. : )
I saw her film “Black Swan”… LOVED IT!
She and Mila Kunis were stellar!
I will mos def have to get this issue as I have always liked and admired Natalie Portman for her acting and her academic achievements!
And now she is expecting a child with her fiance Benjamin Millepeid, lovely news for a talented person!

Oh, I’ve to wait until the end of February before Black Swan is here (Netherlands) in the cinemas, I’m “jealous” ;) Can’t wait!!
I read she’s pregnant. Benjamin was her ballet trainer for the film.

They didn’t plump her lips. Those are natural

Ellington, I second that! We saw Black Swan and we were completely mesmerized! The movie is masterfully executed (like anything else Aronofski) and, like you said, Natalie and Mila are stellar! Vincent Cassel aussi.

Agingerella, you have to see it! I can’t wait to hear your opinion!
