Amazing Bodypainting. Acne Paper FW 2010 2011
December 19th, 2010 by kpriss
I usually pay little attention to this kind of art. Of body art. However, the following image is downright amazing! Not just because it’s part of a magazine pictorial where every page, every model embodies a room of the house (this being the library), but because of its flawless realization.
The image appeared in Acne Paper Issue 11 Fall Winter 2010 2011 and it was executed by Phillis Cohen. Isn’t she something else? (you can check out more of her work here; via)
Coco Rocha Covers Elle Italia January 2011
December 19th, 2010 by kpriss
It’s been a while since we haven’t talked Coco Rocha! Well it’s that time of the year when we catch up with the lively, joyful, beautiful model that is Coco Rocha.
Covering the January 2011 issue of Elle Italy, there goes Coco in full bloom! Colors galore, she looks like a punk gypsy. Charming and funny. Though I wish they could have done something with her ribs – photoshopping them out was an option. Looking at her cover I keep thinking they had the morning after New Year’s Eve party in mind when styling the Alexei Hay shot. Grab whatever you can, throw everything on and try to keep your head from exploding. Either that or the gypsy punk thing. What would it be? (photo via)
Scotch Naturals Nail Polish, Perfect Gift For The Natural Women
December 18th, 2010 by kpriss
I just realized we’re on the clock for the Christmas shopping list! So I thought I’d give you a hand if you’re feeling uninspired and don’t have the right idea at the right time for the right person.
The first Christmas suggestion is Scotch Naturals nail polish! Have you heard of them? It’s a line of natural nail polish made from water, acrylic polymer emulsion and non toxic colorants! I suggest you get the Scotch Nail Polish Remover for a complete natural effect (the remover contains water, tall oil fatty acids and plant based alcohols, nonionic surfactant, organic buffer). Take a look after the jump at their colors palette and marvel yourself at their natural beauty! Each nail polish costs $14,99 and the remover $9,99 each and you can buy them here. (have you ever considered switching to naturals? My nail loyalties lie with OPI, still)

Voyage D’Hermes, The New Hermes Perfume
December 18th, 2010 by kpriss
I sometimes wish Hermes would make it easier to dislike them by issuing a dislikable product or a less adorable campaign. My wishes didn’t come true so far. Au contraire – they’re once again challenged by a new ad campaign coming from Hermes.
Le Voyage D’Hermes (Hermes’ Voyage) is the new perfume from the house of Hermes. And below is the new campaign for this fragrance. I don’t even care how it smells like – they had me at the first second of the campaign! How can you resist such beauty?
Alexander McQueen By Sarah Burton In Vogue US January 2011
December 18th, 2010 by kpriss
There seems to be something interesting outside the celebrity must in the Vogue US January 2011 issue. A special Alexander McQueen feature with the house’s Spring Summer 2011 designs.
Imagined and created by Sarah Burton, the collection was so much in McQueen’s spirit, you’d say it’s almost a reinterpretation of past collections instead of a brand new one. However, looking at Lily Donaldson, Sasha Pivovarova, Caroline Trentini, Mirte Maas, Patricia van der Vliet wearing Sarah’s interpretation of Alexander McQueen doesn’t give me that déjà vu feeling it could, taking the above theory into consideration. No. They all look amazing and earthly beautiful and majestic. At least to me. What say you? (photo via)

Is Latisse Actually Working? Claire Danes Allegedly Suffers Side Effects
December 17th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember Lumigan? (Latisse it’s a similar product, with the same effects!) I do! It was the answer of so many prayers I have launched over the years, hoping the Almighty would lay His mercy down on my lashes and bestow his sacred growing powers on making my lashes looong and blaaack and shiny and .. oh well, you know…
Yeah so when Latisse (Lumigan and so on) came on, I thought I nailed it, that it was Divine essence in a bottle. However, after careful consideration, I said to myself that if He really would have wanted my lashes to grow, a spell would have cast on me during my beauty sleep, and He would not have wanted me to vulgarize such a divine act by buying a bottle of medicine.
Claire Danes, who was (and maybe still is) a spokesperson for Latisse seems to be experiences some nasty side effects such as: purple and yellow around her eyes. However, Claire Danes reps denied everything, implying legal actions would be taken if the story wouldn’t be put to sleep immediately. Hasty people since Latisse warned everyone on their website that nasty side effects may indeed occur (skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eye, redness of the eyelids). Anyone out there actually experienced Latisse (or Lumigan)? Care to share your perspective? (via)

Daphne And Stephen’s Givenchy Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
December 17th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember that couture mask we talked about a while ago? The one I said was perfectly fitted for Lady Gaga’s Christmas wishlist? Well there it goes, starring in Givenchy’s Spring Summer 2011 campaign.
After pushing Lea T last season, Riccardo Tisci found yet another visual, equally strong, to forward in his Spring Summer 2011 campaign. The gimp mask. Couture, I give him that much, but sm nevertheless. And it could be just about anyone under that mask, not necessarily Daphne Groeneveld (you might remember her from the cover of Vogue Paris) phantoming behind male albino model Stephen Thompson. Next summer is white or not at all! Too bad for Marc Jacob’s effervescent campaign!
