The Everly Brothers All I Have To Do Is Dream

How was your first week from 2011? Do things shape up to what you were hoping, dreaming into? How about your first 2011 weekend?

I can’t wait to hear what you’ve been up to in the new year! For us it’s been pretty interesting, to say the least. Luckily, incidentally, I am the most fortunate woman in the world for I have my Amazing, Adored Husband to help me with everything. As we speak, my computer is on his desk, he’s trying to make it work again… And that’s the last in a series of home – related events that we’ve been attending to this week.

However, here’s to a first great week from 2011! May it grow better and happier on us! I hope you’ll enjoy this evergreen: The Everly Brothers All I Have to Do Is Dream. (more info right after the jump!)

Anja Rubik, Jac Jagaciak Gap Spring 2011 Ad Campaign.Flare Jeans The New It

Gap said that flare is officially on. And more: flare and high waist! Yes, I’m talking about jeans!

It’s yet unclear from the images released so far, but Gap’s Spring 2011 ad campaign is based on flare legged jeans with high waist (for Jac Jagaciak) and classic low waist (for Anja Rubik). I wish more images would appear soon so I’d form an appropriate opinion. Thus far, given the state of skinny-ness of the campaign models, I’m not convinced I should give up my gorgeous boyfriend jeans for a pair of flare legs. Are you already sold? (via)

Natalie Portman’s Jason Wu Dress Hides Her Baby Bump

If you haven’t seen it yet, I advise you to go do it right away! Go see Black Swan! It’s brilliant and… just brilliant. Talking about Natalie Portman wearing a Jason Wu dress for the People’s Choice Awards 2011 was actually a pretext to touch the Black Swan subject.

It’s definitely one of my all time favorite movies right now, as well as the rest of Aronofsky’s movies (and by that I’m referring to: Requiem for a Dream and PI. I actually tried to watch The Fountain but didn’t felt it. Have you seen it? Do you think it’s worth a second try? Also I’m working on my schedule to get the Wrestler in that list of Aronofsky watched films – yes, I know, Adriana, I haven’t yet, but the day I will, I promise I will deliver a quick and personal opinion about Mickey and the movie!)

The button front silk chiffon pleated dress Natalie chose for the People’s Choice Awards comes from Jason Wu’s Pre Fall 2011 collection, you know, the one I already praised few weeks before. ( great minds think alike – haha ) It’s curious to see Natalie straying away from her usual Rodarte Red Carpet wardrobe, but maybe we’ll see something spectacular signed by the Mulleavy sisters on the Golden Globes red carpet? Or the Oscars? Either way, it’s really a clever and fashionable way to go around the baby bump watch! Well done, Natalie! (there’s a more revealing photo of her baby bump right after the jump!) Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign. More

Remember how enthusiast I was over Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring Summer 2011 collection? All white, all gorgeous?

It was about time they sneak in some disappointment with the ad campaign for the very collection I loved! Because you see, in today’s fashion, white cannot exist on its own. It’s too virginal and pure, and innocent and beautiful. They have to twist it, turn it, shadow it, smear it so it becomes artsy, fancy, schmancy. So they dit. With a little help from Alessandra Ambrosio, Izabel Goulart, Isabeli Fontana and Maryna Linchuk.

Everybody knows girls love a little get together for a round of old fashioned bucket toilette! Come, get your Dolce on and we’ll dip in a bucket on the front porch, eh? Dolce ads. Men love it. Stay tuned for more. (photo via)

Fur Banned From Fashion Week. Olso Fashion Week.

Your heart swirled with joy for the first part. It was only when you hit the second part of the title that you felt the dark fangs of disappointment.

It’s not for a Peta reasoning that I’m doing this. It’s because, maybe just because they’re made for showcasing purposes and, for the most part, the catwalk collections don’t really appeal to the general public, that real fur, real animals, should be spared. Well done for Norway and its Fashion Week resolution: no more real fur on the Oslo runway! How do you feel about stepping up the no real fur game at a global level? (Ecouterre via)

Elisa Sednaoui’s Armani Femme Bleue Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

Fashion is going all strange with women. Sunglasses covering half the face of the model (or any woman for the matter), women starring in advertising such as Lady Rouge, Lady Grey, Lady Noire (yes, that’s Dior’s Marion Cotillard and the Lady Dior ads she appeared in).

Now there goes Armani with La Femme Bleue (which wasn’t in Dior’s spectrum for all we know) starring French model Elisa Sednaoui. Photographed by Nick Knight, creative director Giorgio Armani himself. Who should be doing Lady Green / La Femme Verte? (via)

Nicole Kidman’s Harper’s Bazaar February 2011

Indisputably a gorgeous cover for Harper’s Bazaar, the February 2011 issue, Nicole Kidman’s white redheaded appearance isn’t the most interesting thing about her feature from HB.

Using the occasion to promote Nicole’s upcoming film, a comedy, Just Go With It, Harper’s published an interview with Nicole Kidman by Jennifer Aniston. Ain’t that something (except Nicole’s usual Botox frozen face, biensur)? Photographed by Alex Lubomirski, Nicole is looking as charming as a modern day Alice in a couture country wonderland. Also, from the interview: what would you tell the 20yo you?

Anja Rubik Refused Richardson’s Pirelli. Doesn’t Understand Richardson Controversy

In a recent interview with Anja Rubik over at the Frockwriter’s, she talked about anything and everything (including few upcoming covers she’ll be on and a Vogue Australia cover shoot she’s doing as we speak).

One of the most important things, however, was that she didn’t accept to do the Pirelli calendar under Richardson’s directions (yes, that Terry Richardson!) because she thought he would push her towards an uncomfortable zone she didn’t wanted to be in. In the same time, however, she said she knew him and didn’t understand where those harassment rumors came from: (photo via; if you want to read the interview, you can do so here)

I know him, I’ve shot with him many times. And I think he’s great. I never felt uncomfortable, I never thought he pushed me into anything. I think if a girl, like, leaves her green light that she’s open to doing different things, he maybe pushes the boundaries. And if he knows how the girl is. Like I don’t get all these allegations. I mean I worked with him over, I don’t know, 15 times and I never felt awkward…..that I felt I had to do something.
