Sofia Vergara’s Kmart Collection
January 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Unless you’ve been hiding underneath a big layer of TV ignorance, Sofia Vergara’s Modern Family character is really making the delight of the viewers. We don’t even have a TV in our home, but we have to keep au jour with the latest adventures of the above – mentioned Modern Family! (please, do consider watching it! It literally brightens up our day when we watch it!)
Yeah, so – Sofia Vergara – the gorgeous Colombian from TV is launching a fashion collection. With Kmart. No wonder people like her – she’s popular in every way – choosing such a collaboration, I don’t expect her to have imagined dressing the A listers but normal people, like you and me.
Also – with dresses like that chez Kmart, who needs Herve Leger anymore? (via)

Dancing. Everywhere. Anywhere
January 27th, 2011 by kpriss
I feel like dancing, dancing… That’s what today inspired me to do – dance the day away! And I’ll show you just why I thought of that!
Are you familiar with Jordan Matter? How about the Dancers Among Us project? It’s really magical. A piece of heaven in our everyday routine. Started in 2009, the project keeps getting media attention for its brilliancy and aesthetic contribution to the well-being of the general population.
Also – I had the best of time looking at Jordan Matter’s Dancers gallery, now excuse me while I go empty a wall to frame those beautiful, amazing shots he took! And that, my lovelies, was my inspiration for today. Hope it brings a ray of sunshine in your day too!
Godfrey Gao Louis Vuitton Men Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
January 27th, 2011 by kpriss
The Asian Market will most definitely save this world’s luxury industry. While I was talking earlier about Givenchy’s full Asian models display from the Paris Couture week, this brilliant marketing move came to me. As suggested earlier by our dear friend, Ellington, there goes Godfrey Gao for the Louis Vuitton Men Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign.
There’s something notable about this – the Canadian – born actor Godfrey Gao is the first Asian model to represent the Louis Vuitton Menswear label and, with it, Marc Jacobs’ obvious Asian – inspiration.
Photographer: Cedric Buchet. (no word on the second male model who appears in the ad campaign – you can see him right after the jump). Also – should we cross our fingers and hope for real diversity in the LV ads? Or it’s just for financial purposes only? (via)
Givenchy Haute Couture Spring Summer 2011
January 27th, 2011 by kpriss
Why do I get the feeling that Riccardo Tisci is fighting some kind of sartorial fight in his couture collections? His meticulously sewn and embroidered looks seem ready to come to life and fight for their sartorial rights. Or more.
The work of an artistically tormented soul, Riccardo Tisci‘s Givency Haute Couture Spring 2011 is full of hidden symbols. And some, not so hidden – the entire cast of this fashion presentation consisted of Asian models. Now that’s a statement! Thank you, Givenchy, for stepping up and actually doing something the fashion world will most definitely notice! (photos via)

I can’t seem to have enough of them rain boots. Something inside of me keeps pushing for more, more beautiful, more stylish rain boots. Sure, there’s Hunter. And then there’s this:
Däv footwear brings the fun in the rain boots. They’re plain fashionable and cute, it’ll brighten your most rainy day in a blink. Or at least that what they’d do with my rainy days. What do you do when it pours? Stay inside with a hot chocolate and some comfort food or courageously confront the rain wearing one of your most stylish approach of rain fashion? Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Show
January 27th, 2011 by kpriss
Watching shows like this Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2011 remind me why I love fashion in the first place. Because it’s fashion!
Highly retro glamorous, the Christian Dior couture as imagined by John Galliano is so theatrical and feminine, it’s hard not to imagine movies while watching the girls catwalking down the Parisian runway. Yes, yes, I know it’s all staged and rehearsed, but even so, I can’t get enough of the Dior girls’ doing their little drama while parading. Elizabeth Mitchell MF Music Fashion Magazine January 2011
January 27th, 2011 by kpriss
Undoubtedly a beautiful, gracious woman, Elizabeth Mitchell didn’t struck me as the cover model material she proves she is by posing for mf, Music Fashion magazine, the January 2011 issue. (you may be familiar with her from Lost and, more recently, V)
However, I have to give it to Elizabeth – she is such a beautiful woman, and more – she’s a normal, one – of – us woman (yeah, I know, a gorgeous one, but still, one of us!). And the pictorial is no short than charming, feel free to check out the images right after the jump as well as the behind the scenes video!
