Britney Spears’ Harper’s Bazaar June 2011

She’s had her highs and she definitely had her lows. But now, Britney Spears is definitely having a moment! She’s turned out to be one of the most treasured entertainers and all that despite her tumultuous life which many of us couldn’t have pulled out anyway, forget doing all that in the public’s eye!

Seeing Britney happy again, smiling bright, is like saying there’s sunshine even after the darkest sky. She’s a living example and inspiration to so many! Harper’s Bazaar decided it was time to give her a cover girl time so there she is, as photographed by Alex Lubomirski. Don’t worry if you don’t really recognize her in the pictures, it must be part of the reinvention thing – she has a new album coming up plus the promotional summer tour! What do you think about the skate theme of the shooting? Doesn’t it remind you of Avril Lavigne a little? (there’s also an interview with Britney in this HB issue and you can check the online version here)

Diane Kruger’s Portrait On The Cannes City Hall

We talked about how gorgeous she looked on the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet and we’re getting back to the same Cannes point to talk Diane Kruger again. This time, it’s about a photo of Diane’s that has been placed on the Cannes City Hall to draw attention at a particular portraits exhibition with pictures by Marcel Hartmann in collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre.

17 images with movie – associated personalities can be admired in the outdoor exhibition that’ll run until July 1. Cannes fait le mur. Diane fait le mur. At least they all agree that she’s so gorgeous, she needs to be the face of an exhibition featuring 17 other prominent film industry people! (oh, her Cannes Red Carpet hair! I miss it so much! Wasn’t it better than this bland hairdo?) (Marcel Hartmann via)

Ralph Lauren Is Into Oprah

And why wouldn’t he be? At least that’s how we get to see his precious ranch from Telluride, Colorado. An Oprah show, shot on location to the Ralph Lauren Ranch will be aired tomorrow, May 18, 2011.

It seems that her farewell season could be her best yet. People just can’t get enough of Oprah and her choices (see the scarves we talked about few days back) and now she’s grating us a free tour of the Ralph Lauren mansion, in what will be the designer’s first TV interview in 20 years! That’s like 200 years in fashion! She surely knows how to make audience, doesn’t she? (via, photo via)

Do You Know Your Best Photo Pose?

We had guests over this weekend. Dear friends who also happen to have a major photography passion. So we ended up taking pictures and having a world of fun with the kids.

While it’s undoubtedly an extra photographic sense that differentiates the photographers from normal picture – taking individuals like myself who praises the auto focus cameras, I can’t help but think there’s something else too. Something that’s entirely in the model’s hands. Or feet. Or body. What I’m trying to say here is that some people know how to pose more than others.

And if that’s something you can pick up, it also means that you have to consciously, deliberately pose when your picture is taken. Do you know how to do that? And if so, would you mind giving away some tips and tricks? What’s your favorite, best pose? (of you, biensur) Do you think a pose changes everything in the end photographic result? (because if you ask me, it’s the after effects treatment that has the ultimate altering power, take the below image, for instance, do you know who that is? – the answer is here!)

Penelope Cruz Vogue June 2011

With the Pirates of the Caribbean just launching at Cannes and worldwide, Penelope Cruz is one of the must have celebrities on the Red Carpet events around the world. Because Penelope is trendy, fun, smart and, of course, beautiful!

Penelope Cruz is Vogue’s US June 2011 cover star. The images, as photographed by Mario Testino are dreamy natural and charming, just like she is. Penelope is one of those artists who know no boundaries and their art cannot be contained in just one country’s border. Thank you, Spain, for having spawned such talented individual! Can’t wait to see how she looks like as a Pirate! (more images right after the jump, check out the Vogue interview here)

Angelina Jolie’s Chocolate Brown Atelier Versace Dress For Cannes 2011

I’ve waited for this since the first day Cannes 2011 started! Angelina Jolie walking the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet is definitely something one shouldn’t miss. Especially if you’re used to Angelina wearing black, white and anything gray-ish inbetween.

Angelina Jolie in chocolate brown Atelier Versace dress walks the Cannes Red Carpet at Brad Pitt’s side for the premiere of his latest movie, The Tree of Life (which received mixed reviews but stands as a masterpiece because of its director, Terrence Malik, also known for “The New World”). Just a word about Brad Pitt, though – what’s up with the shades? And the haircut? Getting back to Angelina – the dark chocolate brown dress is something unusual for Angelina, however, the cut is not.

She’s loving Atelier Versace, we’ve seen her wearing gowns from the label before. Not to mention the dramatic leg slit! Something less theatrically dramatic, maybe, would’ve been better, but she looks gorgeous and, most of all, I love her radiance. She looks like she’s glowing from the inside… Isn’t she? Gary Jules And Michael Andrews Mad World

Are you familiar with Gary Jules and Michael Andrews’ cover of Mad World? Originally introduced to the world by Tears for Fears in 1982, the below embedded version of the song which came to be ten years later, in 2001 – 2003, is far warmer and epical. But that’s also due to Michel Gondry’s directed video.

Which I absolutely love, being one of my favorite songs and videos! So without further introductions, here’s Gary Jules and Michael Andrews Mad World! Enjoy! (more info and the original Tears for Fears right after the jump!)

Benjamin Millepied For Yves Saint Laurent

There seems to be a brand conflict in the Portman Millepied household! With his lady fronting the Miss Dior Cherie perfume ad campaign, Benjamin Millepied went ahead and wrapped his first (ever) commercial with the house of Yves Saint Laurent.

He’s representing the maison’s upcoming perfume in an ad campaign directed and lensed by Patrick Demarchelier. If ballerinas take the fashion world by storm, you should know that (male) dancers are “the new Saint Laurent masculinity”! Not bad, just the kind of publicity that could get people closer to opera halls (and dance rings for that matter)! Does Benjamin Millepied looks anything remotely YSL? (photos via)
