The Swimsuit Of The Season As Illustrated By Kate Moss
June 1st, 2011 by kpriss
There’s a Kate Moss pictorial in Vogue Brazil (May 2011) as photographed by Mario Testino. In the said pictorial, Kate Moss is photographed wearing various swimming suits or swim – related postures.
One of the pictures, however, has caught my attention: it’s a bright colored one piece swimming suit Kate is wearing with grace and unbalanced sense of fashion. It’s actually the only picture of the entire pictorial where a man appears alongside Kate. And that man is Rodrigo Santoro. And I have absolutely no idea why he’s there in the picture with her (aside from, the obvious, that he’s Brazilian and that this is, after all, Vogue Brazil).
But that is not even the issue here – the issue here is brought to my attention by Kate’s swimsuit. Is this the new it swimsuit? The spilling out of swimsuit? Because in my head, that a certified no – go! How about in your perspective? (Vogue Brazil via 1, 2)
What To Wear In Paris. Not.
June 1st, 2011 by kpriss
I’m sure many of you ask around, before taking a trip to a foreign land, what to wear for your destination city / cities so you’ll feel at ease and not to stand out like a giraffe in a poppies field.
Well, it would appear it’s not Nicole Scherzinger’s style. She was recently photographed in Paris, wearing over the knee (pink) leopard high heeled boots and a beige, ruffled stretch one sleeved mini dress. Was Nicole‘s outfit a good choice for a summery Paris day? Maybe. Did she managed to blend in and look like a true Parisian? Absolutely! Just like an elephant manages to pass out as a kitten! The New Speech And Writing Style
June 1st, 2011 by kpriss
That’s one piece of story I wish I could say “look what I found!” about, out loud and jumping up and down like a child on some treasure chest filled with toys he came about while searching for an unpaired sock in his / her drawer!
Yes, it’s like a precious, precious gem! A list of annoying words authored by the New York Times Magazine (ex) editor in chief, Kurt Andersen. A marvelous proof of journalism and professionalism that is already making the rounds of the interwebs (I’m sure that’s an eligible word for The List). Also, many potential candidates for the list coming from commentators, feel free to check it out at the source! What would you add? What annoys you in the modern days web / journalism? (via)
Rihanna Travels With Prada Denim Tote
June 1st, 2011 by kpriss
Despite my wanting to size down the bags, aiming to end up with a mini cross body bag, my heart still lingers for beautiful totes. And I guess it always will. Handbags and shoes are one of my guilty pleasures.
The other day I saw Rihanna getting ready to take flight and I was so curious about her tote, I had to look for it! It’s a Prada (couldn’t help but notice that – wink) denim tote which is marked with “available soon” on the label’s e-store. Priced at $983 (690EUR), the aviator blue denim tote from Prada looks roomy enough to be a good cabin sized bag but also adaptable (with detachable shoulder strap) for everyday use. There’s just one thing I’m not comfortable with – why didn’t they used the same fabric for the shoulder strap? Or a leather one? Anything other than that ordinary black strap would’ve worked better, don’t you agree? (Prada via)
Gagosian Gallery’s Lindsay Lohan By Richard Phillips
May 31st, 2011 by kpriss
I can understand many of the modern day’s artistic representations. I can even understand translating the mundane, the trivial into art. But Lindsay Lohan as art didn’t really cross my mind until now!
In a short movie directed by Richard Phillips and Taylor Steele which will be included in Richard Phillips’ “Commercial Break” from the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, Venice, Italy. I’m puzzled. Are we celebrating Botox? Bleached hair? Oh, I know – freckles – at least that is a valid reason to celebrate. We’re rarely seeing them around anymore, everyone’s photoshopping them out! (what exactly, from this video, reminds you of art?) (via)

Mulberry Bayswater. A Golden Bunch Of!
May 31st, 2011 by kpriss
It’s a funny picture, besides being a good one, composition – wise. The Mulberry maison is celebrating 40 years this year. Happy Anniversary Mulberry! May you always enchant our hearts like only you know best! For the occasion, some funny installments have been arranged.
Such as this handful of golden balloons in bag shape! And not just any bag – the Mulberry Bayswater! A classic, a gorgeous classic (I think I’m in my “bags” period right now – I see bags all over the place!) in the vicinity of $1,200 (the cheapest, I think). Love the balloons, though, and the picture! That’s some chic city fashion, isn’t it? (Mulberry)
Selita Ebanks’ New Short Red Hairdo
May 31st, 2011 by kpriss
Ever since the news about Selita Ebanks representing for Carol’s Daughter emerged, I felt the urge to follow up the story and find out more about the deal. And that’s how I came to find this: Selita Ebanks’ new short bob. A red one too!
She came out looking lovely, but in a blunt, fash-disoriented way at a Sephora event with Carol’s Daughter alongside Solange Knowles and Cassie, her fellow spokespersons for CD. Dear Selita, if ever this gets to you – you’re such a gorgeous young woman, no need to pull a Rihanna on us, we love you just the way you are, don’t we? (photos theYBF)
Anouk Down And Dirty And More
May 31st, 2011 by kpriss
As our dear friend, Adriana suggested, I’m pouring a little Anouk into our daily / weekly music musings. Because she’s been there for so long, so steadily following her rock path, with so much talent, it would be really reckless of me not paying attention to her in one of (what appears to be) our contemporary (Friday) Breaks.
So, without further introductions, please welcome and enjoy Anouk’s Down And Dirty!
