Met McQueen Exhibit Is Now Over

And the Metropolitan Museum of Art closed the doors on their Alexander McQueen exhibit. From May 4 up until Sunday (August 7), the amazing Savage Beauty exhibition gathered a reported total of 661,509 people from which 31,000 on the final weekend.

That’s a pretty important number of visitors which ranked the McQueen exhibition on the eight place in Met’s exhibitions history. I’m happy people found it to be so interesting! Too bad it took such a tragedy to get them here!

Diane Kruger For L’Oreal

Did you know that Diane Kruger is representing for L’Oreal? The following short video shows Diane talking about her photo session engagement and how it’s all about the light and finding the right mood.

She’s looking gorgeous and I can only hope they won’t mess with her images like they did with Julia Roberts and Christy! (what can they do better? Diane looks flawless as far as I’m concerned! there are times I wish they’d just stick with the behind the scenes imagery instead of the official campaign photos which come across as too airbrushed and unrealistic most of the times!)

Missoni For Target From September 13 To October 22

We’re closing in the Missoni for Target Collection date launch! It’s unbelievable how much I love summer and how amazing all things fall (/winter) look like right now! It’s maybe just this fall season, however, I can’t stop talking about it, writing about it and sharing all the autumnal goodies I find!

When we talked about Missoni for Target last, we were just speculating on the campaign and the dates. Now we know the facts: Missoni for Target’s ad campaign looks like pictured below and the dates are: September 13 to October 22. How do you feel about the collection? That luggage surely looks like a bestseller to me!

Raquel Zimmermann’s Alexander McQueen Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign

It’s really hard to ignore a McQueen campaign. A pretty dark maneuver to start a new week with, although magical and supremely fashionable, all in the spirit of McQueen.

Raquel Zimmerman keeps wearing the McQueen ad queen crown by representing for the Alexander McQueen house’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign. The photographs, as executed by David Sims, spent more time in post production than they did in actual shooting. And that’s alright, especially with this Harry Potter feeling (surely not intentional) suddenly so very a la mode (last week, the HP franchise has passed the billion mark). Do you consider this campaign too dark? Ridiculously apocalyptic? Masterfully inspiring? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (tFS via)

Rihanna’s Hair. Constantly Changing Hairstyles

This year, whenever I see Rihanna, I’m more curious about her new hairdo than I am about her wardrobe. Because, let’s be honest, she had us seeing everything, anything clothing – wise!

And now, after having us all see red, literally, with her wigs / extensions or whatever new haircut she’s having, Rihanna is sticking with almost natural curly, brown hair for a while. And I’m loving it! However, fully aware of the fact that we should look after our hair in the best way possible (after all, we’re wearing it every single day, 24 / 7), I found out that Rihanna spends fortunes to keep her hair in ever changing shape! $23,000 / week! How would you feel about wearing a new car worth of hairdo every week or so? (photos via)

Harper Seven Beckham Looking Gorgeous With Every Passing Day

So here’s to a new week! Another picture of baby Harper Seven Beckham as photographed by her very own proud mama, Victoria Beckham (and twitpic-ed by her too)!

The neverending cuteness is resting on her papa’s chest, David Beckham looking proud and happy! It’s always a blessing to witness and participate in the making and outstanding evolution of a new life! Aren’t they heartmelting?

Freja Beha Erichsen’s Vogue UK September 2011

When it comes to Fashion Magazine September Issues, having a model cover is something to celebrate. Even if it should be an every day thing: models and fashion go together well, celebrity gets the big sales numbers.

So here’s a special issue from Vogue UK, the September 2011 issue gets a model cover. And not just any model – Freja Beha Erichsen looks funny and glittery on the cover, nothing to do with the actual inside pictorial (which Freja shares with Arizona Muse, photographed by Mario Testino on the streets of Antwerp – you can see more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!). Would you rather have had another image as a cover image? (Vogue via)

Strange Visual Stimulation With Miu Miu’s Muta

Though I’m just one of the amateurs in all things fashion, I couldn’t help but notice that although I’m convinced things can’t get any stranger, with every new season, boundaries are pushed further and further.

Miu Miu’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 campaign includes MUTA. A very interesting video, to describe it modestly. The film, as directed by Lucrecia Martel, an Argentinian director, should be about the transformative power of feminity. However, if you look closer, you’ll discover so many reasons to frown and raise your eyebrows that fashion would be one of the last things on your mind. (the models involved are: Maria Alche, Julia Andreson, Cecilia Barrios, Emilienne de Souza, Piren Larrieu Iturre, Rocio Nunez, Florencia Ramaccioni, Rocio Somoza) I sometimes miss Prada’s Falling Shadows, although I didn’t think much of it at the time (sad face – sigh – )
