It’s really hard to ignore a McQueen campaign. A pretty dark maneuver to start a new week with, although magical and supremely fashionable, all in the spirit of McQueen.
Raquel Zimmerman keeps wearing the McQueen ad queen crown by representing for the Alexander McQueen house’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign. The photographs, as executed by David Sims, spent more time in post production than they did in actual shooting. And that’s alright, especially with this Harry Potter feeling (surely not intentional) suddenly so very a la mode (last week, the HP franchise has passed the billion mark). Do you consider this campaign too dark? Ridiculously apocalyptic? Masterfully inspiring? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (tFS via)

Wonderful pictures. Very suitable on this particular Monday.
This sort of photography & Raquel Zimmerman make me think of Joan of Arc! Weird I know!
What is this? Day of the zombies? Absolutley hideous!
Everything. The frocks, the poses, the backgrounds; Eww.
Say, for a moment, you were to style the campaign, e.varden (welcome back! It’s been a while!). Regardless of the “hideous frocks”, you would have to deliver an exquisite aesthetic – what would you do? Seriously! I’m curious since I thought the mood was right. Not to mention the latest events in London – now I feel the timing is right too.
(brothers and sisters in style from London – we pray for you! May you find peace and harmony again!)
OK, I’ll exclude the actual garments; perhaps I’ve been overwhelmed by the ghastly poses and backgrounds they were displayed in.
Who is this fotog that (mis)managed this shoot?
Speaking of shoot, if I was a member of the McQueen Estate I would arrange for this macabre buffoon to receive a shot amongst his eyes.
(Thankew for your welcoming of my posting, KP. And your opinion in this thread (!) is as valid as mine. Except you are wrong.)
