Kanye West Confirmed For Paris Fashion Week?
September 14th, 2011 by kpriss
Oh, come on! I always took those rumors about Kanye West having a fashion collection ready as pure and delightful mockery! Now I hear Kanye West Fashion Show was confirmed for Paris Fashion Week!
Wait, wait! There’s actually a day set for that? And an hour: Saturday, October 1, 9:30pm. How crazy is that? And Paris? What’s wrong with New York Fashion Week, if he was to do it anyway?

Target Dot Com Is Down. Blame Missoni For Target
September 14th, 2011 by kpriss
You knew Missoni was coming to a Target near you! And you also knew Missoni for Target was coming on a computer screen near you. Available also online, the collection has, however, managed to take down Target dot com’s web servers. Due to, you’re guessing that right, extreme demand and popularity.
Our patience was fruitful as the site is now up and running again. A warm thank you to everyone who made it possible again! Let’s dip in that Target sea of Missoni goodies, mkay?
Anna Wintour’s Meme – Fashion Week’s Most Notable Happening
September 13th, 2011 by kpriss
Anna Wintour. Books have been written about her. Movies have been made about (and with) her. Columns, entire websites talk about her 24 / 7. Undoubtedly one of the most influential fashion people ever, Anna Wintour is, believe it or not, human after all!
And that was caught on film. Almost! Anna Wintour laughing her heart out (for fashion’s sake, biensur) during a New York Fashion Week presentation (Pamela Love, to be more exact – I’ll have to cover that too, see what was pleasing Anna’s heart as to make her laugh so loud and wide). Fashion people have a meme on their hands! Thank you, Ryan Koopmans! You can laugh at (with) Anna’s meme here (few examples after the jump). It’s priceless, priceless fun! Fashion fun!
Should Dior Take Galliano Back?
September 13th, 2011 by kpriss
Little has been said in John Galliano’s favor since his falling from grace in that most unhappy, unpleasant and unforgettable drunk terrace talk. Fashion people and mortals alike blended in a general meh, frowning and looking away in disgust, leaving John Galliano all alone on the shrine of the fashion talent. For he is a truly talented designer, no doubt about that.
So what do we do? Look for profit and tranquility or give another shot to fashion? To talent? Rumors putting Marc Jacobs in charge of Christian Dior started to circulate. Fashion people keep their cool and don’t comment much. Too bad. Here’s some with an extra pair: Vogue Italy’s Franca Sozzani saying Galliano’s place is chez Dior. What do you think?
“Hire back John Galliano. Look, I understand their point of view. I understand they couldn’t just say, ‘Bad boy! We forgive you! Come back!’ But it’s really a pity. And I will never believe he believed what he said. I think he was drunk and alone in a bar. When people go crazy, they go crazy. It’s a human case, it’s not political or religious.”
Doutzen Kroes For Vogue Germany October 2011
September 13th, 2011 by kpriss
Remember we talked about Doutzen Kroes and her first magazine cover since having her baby? Elle’s styling was a bit over the top (although justified by a revival of the 80s glam). I think I brought this Vogue Germany October 2011 cover upon myself when I said I wasn’t too pleased with Elle’s aesthetics!
Although I’m certain the styling falls in the right line with the latest trends and styles, Doutzen Kroes, as photographed by Camilla Akrans, is hair – thin close to awful. The much to obvious bangs clip on, the terribly electric combination of that particular blue and yellow, everything points in just one direction: you either love or completely loathe Doutzen’s Vogue cover! There’s hardly place for in-betweens! So where do you stand? On the good or the bad side of this cover? (photo via)
Michelle Williams As Marilyn Monroe For Vogue October 2011
September 13th, 2011 by kpriss
At first I thought it was a joke. But then I saw it everywhere. I waited for several hours, a reasonable time to see if this is the actual cover. So here it is. Officially: Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe for Vogue October 2011!
Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, the inside pictorial (click here for the gallery) is way more impressive than the actual cover. Which comes across as weird. Unnatural, very un-Marilyn. Why is this happening? Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you already know that Michelle Williams is playing Marilyn in an upcoming movie. While I’m certain that the end result is going to be breathless, I have to ask if Michelle was really the best choice to play Marilyn Monroe. Was she? (there’s also an interview, if you’re curious)

Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried Go Patriotic For W October 2011
September 13th, 2011 by kpriss
Are you familiar with Justin Timberlake’s recent doings? We’ve talked about it not long back: Justin has a new movie coming out, with lovely Amanda Seyfriend, biensur. You may be familiar with the trailer? The trailer which also shows Sasha Pivovarova? Yep, yes, that’s the one! What? No, Sasha is not on the cover! What? No! Not even in the inside pictorial from this October 2011 issue of W Magazine! (she’s just a model, duh!)
I loved the cover tagline “In Fashion We Trust”, it’s a wonderful issue from W, both fashion and politics blended running full speed in the celebrity blender. Photographed by Michael Thompson and styled by Edward Enninful, the pictorial is inspiring, scandalous, brilliant and dubious. You choose because Yes, They Can! (I especially loved the image of Amanda arguing, obviously extremely deranged by newspaper cover title implying an affair of her husband, the candidate. It just never crossed my mind to argue, at least at this magnitude, with a hand in my pocket. Never… – you can see the image right after the jump, click here for the gallery!)

Rihanna’s Emporio Armani Underwear Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign
September 12th, 2011 by kpriss
Remember we talked about Rihanna and her strange look for Armani Jeans, the fall winter 2011 2012 ad campaign? It would appear that she’s keeping the look for the Emporio Armani Underwear FW 2011 2012 Ad campaign. And the car!
It’s not bad for fall. It’s way more explicit than Megan Fox and seeing the Steven Klein photographed images helped me realized that not only do I prefer subtlety more than anything in a campaign involving lingerie, but also that the pop scene has reached unprecedented exposure levels and burlesque implications. To say the least. All in all, it’s Rihanna’s bad girl stage image and she’s sticking to it. Wig and all. I wonder how long til Lady Gaga comes advocating for Armani underwear. After all, who’s a better spokesperson for a lingerie campaign than Lady Gaga, the very Essence of Pantlessness?
