Kristen Stewart’s GQ November 2011
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
This is strange. Like cheesecake and vodka strange. Kristen Stewart on the cover of GQ Magazine? This is the kind of forced marketing maneuver which, surprisingly, may work just fine on the audience!
I keep my eyebrows high and freeze at the “where did teenagers queen Kristen Stewart passed from tweens to men audience?”. You see the handy work of Norman Jean Roy’s lenses there? Yep, that retro touch and above time colorful pin up glam, it’s all Norman Jean Roy, blessed his talented heart! I can’t help it, though. I look at the cover and keep thinking “awkward”. How does this make you feel? (there’s an interview going with that picture, check some of it out here)

Melanie Laurent’s Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison Perfume Ad Campaign
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
What were we talking about? Oh, yes! Celebrity uplifting fashion labels. weren’t we? Here’s another to throw in that deal: Melanie Laurent for Christian Dior’s Hypnotic Poison perfume ad campaign.
If you’re not familiar with the name, Melanie Laurent is Tarantino’s latest movie sweetheart from Inglorious Basterds. While she was undoubtedly brilliant in the movie, she puts on a flat performance in the Hypnotic Poison commercial. And I don’t put it all on her shoulders, oh, no! Whoever is responsible for the planning, making and shooting the campaign should’ve thought harder, planned more carefully and worked harder altogether. Agree?

Chloe Sevigny For Kenzo Spring Summer 2012
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
Paris Fashion Week is about celebrity. It may sound harsh, but give it a moment, it’ll grow on you. Because it makes sense, you’ll see! Who presented his first fashion collection in Paris? Kanye West, yes!
Who walked for Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 (among others)? Gisele Bundchen, yes! (blink, and you would’ve missed her grand finale, that’s how long her catwalk time was!). Another day, another celebrity walks the catwalk: Chloe Sevigny took on a bright blue romper for Kenzo Spring Summer 2012. Why, you might ask – because of her longtime friendship and collaborating history with Kenzo’s leading designers duo, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (previously Opening Ceremony). Do you think having someone famous walking your collection on the runway instantly lifts the quality and the appreciation for the said collection?
Jimmy Choo Icons Collection Photographed By Nan Goldin
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
One way or the other, preparations for Christmas are slowly taking over the world. And yes, I’m well aware of the Halloween craze (I actually started planning and gathering the pumpkins decorations, so I’m well ahead of the schedule) but the fashion world doesn’t seem so big on wanting to scare people. (wink)
Jimmy Choo, the iconic shoes label, will release an Icons campaign next month. Tamara Mellon tapped Nan Goldin for the occasion and the first image looks dreamy beautiful!
With the new collection, which actually focuses on Jimmy Choo’s 15 best selling styles slightly updated, a new foundation with see the light of day “The Jimmy Choo Foundation” (duh!), a charitable trust with also Tamara Mellon at helm, dealing with various women causes. I so like this image, I can’t wait for more (in the mean time, check out the video after the jump)!
Jeremy Scott For Swatch Flamboyant Watches Collection
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
Is it just me, or Swatch is working hard on revamping and injecting more glam into their collections? Like they were growing up fashionably?
Take a look at their latest collaboration, with Jeremy Scott, and tell me what you think of that! Jeremy Scott has five styles ready for the occasion: Melted Minutes, Swatch Portrait, Swatch Punk, Double Vision and Hypnotic Heart. While you may want to sit and reconsider your attitude towards Swatch, think also that this Jeremy Scott watches collection for Swatch is a limited one – count 777 Jeremy Scott (S)Watches! Also – where’s the winged wristwatch?

Apple Launched A New iPhone Today. iPhone 4S
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
We interrupt our normally stylish and ultra fashionable program to bring you the special bulletin for your inner gadget-ista (I don’t know if that exists, I made it up as I wrote). So everyone was waiting for Apple’s big announcement today. They were all actually waiting for a new iPhone to be launched.
And Apple held its iPhone event today to launch the new iPhone. Yes, you heard that right! A new iPhone has been delivered to Apple addicts worldwide! The iPhone 4. S. Yes, you’re reading that right (too)! The old iPhone, only slightly improved. iPhone4S is just like your regular iPhone4 only 7 times faster in games and 2 times faster in normal tasks (if you’re really, really curious – that’s because of the new hardware, iPhone4S being updated with a dual core processor which was previously available only on Apple’s iPad2. Niiiice!).
An important camera update was operated also, the new iPhone4S is equipped with an 8mbpx camera instead of the old 5mbpx one. Which allows you to take better quality pictures and 1080px video formats. Niiiice! The battery life has also improved, the antenna issue was taken care of and new features and apps have been presented to the world. (more about those here) Getting back to our normal program in a second!
Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 Collection
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
With a star studded catwalk, Riccardo Tisci made sure his collection will be the talk of the town. Be it either for the likes of Natalia Vodianova and Gisele Bundchen who walked for him, or for not following the exact trends as recommended by the stylists.
Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 resulted in a very wearable, shiny and minimalist collection. From white to shades of very soft pink, butter and olive green but also strong, structured black, Givenchy ss 2012 was as in trends as sartorially possible: layers, sporty couture, see through and suits, it’s all there, you just have to forget the prints and the big, bright color blocks. How do you like the collection? (click through to see my selection; the entire collection here)
Fashionably Browsing
October 4th, 2011 by kpriss
Few days ago, my sister – in – law sent me this funny looking image, although fashionable to the last pixel! It took me a while to understand what was it about, but then, when I finally did, I laid back and laughed out loud!
Internet browsers as fashion designs. The very stylish and highly fashionable Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera unveil their couture personality to the world. If you ever doubted Project Runway’s influence on the world, stop right there! Although basic and hardly applicable in sartorial reality, the browser couture is a geeky kind of fun I’ll always enjoy! (and I hope you will too!)
