Paris Hilton Preparing A Comeback With Vanity Fair Spain’s Golden Cover?

Years ago, this would’ve been an absolutely normal cover. Paris Hilton’s golden Vanity Fair Spain cover is a double hit: for the average Photoshop user, to see such intensive use of Photoshop on a magazine cover, and for the magazine’s standards – they went with a cover that completely illustrates the magazine’s title.

The sum of all vanities, Paris Hilton, who has been notoriously absent from magazine covers worldwide is (possibly, maybe) aiming at a comeback. Watch your back (wink) Kim Kardashian! (evil laugh) This year, Paris Hilton wants her gossip / media queen crown back! (wouldn’t it be interesting, to have this Miss Popularity contest this year right under our noses?)

I know I should be writing more about fitness programs and exercising and… however, I sometimes stand against the trend. Because you deserve it! You deserve some fresh air in this sea of losing weight madness! (what? Wherever I turn my head, girls talk about shedding the copious Holidays extra weight! And don’t tell me you hadn’t notice?)

So, my daaahlings, newsflash: You’re Beautiful, Just the Way You Are! Time to go underwear shopping! (wink) Did you know that Kate Moss was the spokesbody for Valisere Lingerie? (it’s a Triumph brand, hailing from France’s Val D’Isere region – hence the name) She’s looking great, as always! (you know those days when I was complaining that Kate Moss was everywhere? Now I really miss her – do you?)

Remember when we talked about H & M’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo collection? And although it was fairly early and the world floated on a cloud of enthusiasm and admiration, I leaned towards the appalled side? About a week or two ago, the fashinternet was alarmed (not in a good way) about the way H & M promoted Lisbeth Salander’s style which pushed H & M into issuing some kind of explanation (read apology).

Moving on: have you seen the Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign from DSquared2? It’s Natasha Poly surrounded by four young men, all lying around in a summer – festival – mood. It may not have been the original intention, but the Mert and Marcus photo is surely less about fashion and more about frolic. I often find myself daydreaming about DSquared2 designs, but this campaign does nothing (good) for me. Am I crying wolf too soon? (that’s so you won’t forget how we Frizz things around here – wink)

All these Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaigns have me all dreaming at summer long hot days. And at those cute summer dresses (that I hear crying in the dark of the wardrobe right now – loooong sad face). Plus now that Christmas is already behind us (sigh), what else to talk about than the impeding arrival of warm weather with flowers and birds all around? (daydreaming)

When I came across H & M’s Spring Summer 2012’s lookbook I was all eyes. And, to my surprise, I wasn’t very impressed with it. Actually I wasn’t impressed at all. Take a look and tell me how you feel about it.

Have you seen the new Sherlock Holmes? We’re big fans of Mr Guy Ritchie, I already told you that, so we were, predictably, among the first to buy tickets to the new Sherlock Holmes (plus – we’re lucky enough to have the Grandparents with us for the Holidays, bless their hearts, so I get to take my Adored Husband to a late nigh movie almost every day. Hence my absence around here…)

Robert Downey Jr, my lovelies, is, without any doubts, one of the most sought – after actors of the moment. Whether it’s for Iron Man or Sherlock Holmes, Robert Downey Jr. is just as professional and as committed to the character. Plus he’s funny too. And now he’s expecting a baby. Sort of. His wife is. (what better breaking news to start the year with than this?) We may have seen it before, but there’s nothing like the real thing, baby! Victoria’s Secret Angels will have angels of their own! After reading that Alessandra Ambrosio is pregnant with her second child, hearing that Lily Aldridge is pregnant not only doubles the fun, but it reinforces a certain VS pattern. There has to be more than one Angel who’s expecting!

Congrats are in order, may the expecting mother be blessed with a healthy, easy pregnancy (and delivery)! This is the first child for Lily Aldridge and her rocker husband (Lily and Caleb Followill wedded in mid May 2011).

My daaahlings! Here we are, entering another year together! I feel as emotional as I am honored to count you among my friends, to be able to share my mind and heart with you!

You know I love fireworks and I love a good cake. Put the two together and this is what we get! My daahlings! As I said before, I hope 2012 (wink) will be our best year yet! That we always stay hungry, stay foolish and always stylish! It’s great to enter this new year with you! Haaaaappy New Yeaaaaar! (tons of confetti flying around, a gazillion wonderful fireworks cracking the sky, everyone hugging and dancing)

Tic – tock, the clock is ticking… New Year’s Eve is right upon us (I can’t believe it, really! It’s like yesterday was Christmas!) and given that today is Friday, the last Friday from 2011, I thought I’d mix the two and this is what I got:

It’s a cover, biensur, the original was written back in 1947 by Frank Loesser (and the first version appears to be this one here). Anyway – I love them both, I think they’re brilliant (especially together, wink) and their song is twice as charming because of them covering it.
