Retro Game: Moschino Cheap And Chic Fall 2012

I said I was going to talk about Moschino Cheap and Chic Fall Winter 2012 2013 and so here am I! You have to see this collection! It’s so beautiful, feminine, joyful and chic! Below an example of what Moschino’s fall catwalk looked like! I loved the hair, I loved the clothes! And most of all, I loved the orange hues! (do you think the trends assigned for London Fashion Week involve orange like red was the must – do color for NY FW?)

Fashionably Cheap Marc By Marc Jacobs Fall 2012

I was going to do Moschino Cheap and Chic. And it suddenly hit me that I completely forgot about Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall Winter 2012 2013. Which was already labeled by my highly fashionable self with the “cheap” attribute. In a fashionable manner of speaking, biensur.

Cheap in fashion standards has another dimension from the normal “cheap”. Fashionably cheap is, fashionably speaking, something less expensive, biensur. Which actually means affordable. In fashion standards. And wearable. By normal style standards. Marc Jacobs managed to pull nice clothes out of his mad hat. Sparkle and shine, bright and trendy too, that’s what you’ll want for next fall! Won’t you? (you’ll see more from the collection here)

Joan Smalls, The Model Of The Moment

Every season there’s a new girl, a new face, a new body to conquer the hearts of fashion designers and occupy their catwalks. However, Joan Smalls seems to have an endless moment. Her star shines bright in the fashion sky season after season.

She’s young and still she seems to have a very bright character, she’s determined and knows what she wants. Fashion people love her, designers love her, Joan Smalls will most certainly continue to make fashion waves. But is that really because she started wearing high heels, like cnn claims it actually happened? Like switching from combat boots to high heels is going to change your life forever? (it will change the life of your feet & back, that’s for sure, but get you Givenchy exclusives? I don’t know about that!)

She began wearing heels full-time when she switched agencies in 2009 and began working with IMG’s Kyle Hager. Within a year, she landed her breakthrough gig in high fashion as the exclusive model for Ricardo Tischi’s Givenchy 2010 Couture Show in January 2010.

Catwalk Czarina: Temperley London Fall 2012

Temperley London was always among my favorite catwalks and the Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection makes no exception. Although much more floral than I expected, less precious neckline embroidery and less flowy, simple lines, I still saw the same aristocratic beauty I loved. Only in a more folk, Slavic way. Like some time – travelling Czarina who landed at some Woodstock concert! (the entire collection here)

Arizona Muse’s New Brunette Hairdo: New Hair Dye Must

Arizona Muse kept her eighties bob cut but changed her hair color this season. She made her brunette debut on Derek Lam’s Fall 2012 catwalk. After that picture of Jessica Stam joining the dark (hair) side, I think it’s safe to declare that the must wear hair color right now is darker.

And that’s not just hasty talk, style dot com also confirmed that brunettes had more fun this fall Fashion Week. At least in New York. Let’s see what happens in London, Milan and Paris! (are you ready to go ditch summer sunny locks for darker dos?)

Fashionably Tamed: Vivienne Westwood Red Label Fall 2012

Vivienne Westwood is in the details! Although Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection was unexpectedly tamed and polite, dame Viv kept poking her pretty little rebel head here and there. Graphic scribbles, undecipherable tags were scattered on the models’ bodies here and there – a white sign here, a black drawing there, it was all pretty, rebel and all round adorable!… wasn’t it? Natalia Vodianova Covers Vogue Paris March 2012

This is a really simple, very striking cover for Vogue Paris March 2012. Natalia Vodianova seems to be back in fashion, stronger than ever. And with every picture of her I discover, I’m more and more convinced that less is definitely more effective than a bunch of colorful yet aesthetically aggressive styling options.

Sure, it doesn’t work with anyone, but I’m happy and grateful for every simple fashion moment I find! So today I love Mert and Marcus’ photo of Natalia Vodianova for Vogue Paris. Do you?
