Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 Shoes
March 9th, 2012 by kpriss
I was really taken by the beauty of McQueen’s blooming fall 2012 collection. As usual, the McQueen shoes came to spice up the fashion game, in no way tamed or discrete.
With shapes reminding me of Nina Ricci’s shoes, or the hoof like, heel – less footwear that was very fashionable not long back (remember even Victoria Beckham was a fan). The metal edge on the soles or the furry ankles and covers point towards hoofs too. How’s that working with flowers? It’s all about nature, I guess… Horses, flowers… McQueen. Either way, if you want fierce shoes for fall and you’re not interested in comfort, try McQueen shoes! It’s a house trademark to make a challenge out of each step!
Flower Power: Alexander McQueen Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection
March 9th, 2012 by kpriss
I know you’ve all seen the McQueen collection by now, but I just couldn’t let it go without saying how much I loved it! I wish I could’ve done it sooner, sadly, four kids down with the cold tends to cloud my fashion vision! But now that they’re feeling so much better, the sun is up, sparkling up in the fashion sky!
This actually doubles my appreciation of Alexander McQueen’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 in all its blooming beauty! Really unexpected for a fall collection, especially in a season which has favored dark, moody creations more than anything. However, Sarah Burton always stands tall in a sea of uniform fashion, following her own fashion direction. And what a beautiful one it is, this season! (more images after the jump!)
Jessica Simpson Pregnant Elle Cover: To Be Or Not To Be Dressed?
March 9th, 2012 by kpriss
There’s a fine line between beautiful and… the rest. And almost every magazine cover of Jessica Simpson I see, it’s like a desperate cry for attention (which could be accurate since she’s mainly doing gossip magazines)! And yes, I’m aware that she’s enormously successful with her shoes (and clothing) line already, but Jessica Simpson really loves the spotlight.
And there she goes at it again, flaunting her respectably pregnant body on the cover of Elle Magazine April 2012 (the US edition) as photographed by Carter Smith. The newsstand cover is a SFW version of the subscribers cover, who, in exchange for their loyalty to Elle, they received a clothesless Jessica Simpson in their mailbox. Hurray! Ain’t that a privilege! (congrats to the mom – to – be: Jessica is expecting a baby girl! How sweet!)
So, although the question seems redundant, which is the cover you prefer the most (in this Elle case): Jessica with or without clothes? Because in either one of them, Jess still is quite pregnant, mind you! After all it’s really not about fashion. April is not about fashion, daahlings! It’s about being pregnant and landing an Elle here and a Vogue there (yes Sienna, I’m pointing at you!).

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2012 Shoes
March 8th, 2012 by kpriss
Now since I opened Pandora’s box and talked about the beautiful jewelry pieces from Yves Saint Laurent’s fall 2012 collection, I’ll sink deeper and provoke you to a shoes – talk!
It’s not easy to walk in Stefano Pilati shoes from Yves Saint Laurent! Literally! Except the YSL people played a winning hand with that move – more about that later. Where were we? Ah, yes! Shoes talk! The YSL fall 2012 shoes were pretty edgy and very tall! Rough, but not in an industrial way, like Kirkwood’s shoes are. Pilati’s YSL Fall 2012 footwear had a studied roughness, a steady sensuality and a strong appearance. And I loved them! Not too retro, not too revolutionary – they were perfectly appealing (and I believe some may go as far as calling them boring. Do you?)
YSL Fall 2012 Jewelry
March 8th, 2012 by kpriss
I kept thinking about that simple yet beautiful Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2012 collection: the oversized rings turned into cuffs stole my heart! Totally complimenting the general austere spirit of the otherwise minimal YSL FW 2012 2013 collection. As for the calla lilies jewelry – bracelets and necklaces – they could’ve sweetened, softened the edgy feel of the collection…
…if they weren’t so cold in their absolute silver – ness. And if they weren’t meant to adorn the grave on those who’d die before their time (sure, the beautiful Calla Lily was also symbol of lust, and associated with the Roman winter solstice). Pretty dark, huh?
Betsey Johnson’s Sephora By OPI Nail Polish Collection
March 8th, 2012 by kpriss
If you like Betsey Johnson, you’ll most certainly like her nail polish collection created in collaboration with O.P.I.’s Sephora label. And even if you don’t like Betsey’s effervescent style, you’ll still love Betsey’s OPI nail polish collection as it comes in really fun and trendy shades! Note there’s even a blue like Chanel’s coveted Blue Sky nail polish? It can be yours for just $9.50 over at Sephora!
Converse DoYaThing With Gorillaz, Andre 3000, James Murphy
March 8th, 2012 by kpriss
And another brilliant collaboration is born under the Converse sign! (remember this?) Converse Chuck Taylor worked on a special collaboration with Gorillaz and this DoYaThing song (which is also available for download here) sustains not just the “Three Artists. One Song” project, but also the sneakers collection in question. (which were available for purchase here)
The great thing about Converse (among others, biensur), is that despite their age (the first Converse shoes appeared as early as 1908) they always keep the fresh blood pouring down their laces through so many interesting collaborations. They’re not just sneakers anymore, they’re artworks at your feet! Check out the video right after the jump! (first spotted here)
Bar Refaeli’s New Underwear: under.me
March 7th, 2012 by kpriss
Have you heard of under.me underwear before? I haven’t! I just saw this picture of Bar Refaeli playing tennis wearing only lingerie and I thought: ”oh! Here’s another one following Jennifer Love – Hewitt’s footsteps! It must be a cult of some kind!” (you remember JLH was photographed playing tennis in her swimsuit and wearing high platform wedges nonetheless!)
The very lovely Bar Refaeli, however, was doing something pretty different and honorable: promoting her very own range of lingerie! Under.me is the name of the brand and Bar is said to have designed the undergarments herself, saying that the underwear should help and compliment the body, not “steal the show” – I’m all for! (there’s not much information available, though, only an under – construction website you can visit here and a Facebook page here) I think it’s a great under – idea, Michael Bay sure won’t approve of it, but normal women most certainly would! (wouldn’t you?)
