Thierry Mugler’s Home

New York Penthouse. Actually. Which is also for sale, so if you’re interested, just click through to be visually amazed by Thierry Mugler’s home.

Just 5,000 short of $8 Million, Thierry Mugler’s penthouse sounds like a bargain: a 4,100 square feet duplex and an amazing view from the roof terrace all impeccably styled and preciously decorated.

What I loved the most was the glass tall ceiling from the (otherwise narrow and slightly claustrophobic) kitchen. And the lovely rooftop terrace aged deck with plenty of green to make it feel natural and welcoming but also incredibly intimate. I wish it were decorated by Mr Mugler himself, but I’m sure it was the handy work of a talented team of professional interior decorators. So let’s scroll down and take (interior) note:

How About Skeleton Tights?

We talked about printed tights in the past, but this is different! Not only is this a print, but it can also double as Halloween costume: the skeleton printed tights are as surprising as they are catchy. And although I wouldn’t wear them myself (outside of a costume party, that is), I think they make quite the style statement! Don’t they? (oh, and just in case you want to bring the skeleton tights in your wardrobe, they’re available here) {TokyoFashion}

Roger Vivier In California. Third US Store

Roger Vivier is certainly one of the French fashion labels enjoying serious success Stateside. Could be because of the celebrity ambassadors who were seen constantly wearing Roger Vivier (think Katie Holmes and her fashionable daughter, Suri), could be because of Roger Vivier’s brand identity consultant, Ines de la Fressange whose style is definitely worth of fashion praise. Much like her daughter’s, Nine D’Urso.

But enough of the Roger Vivier accolade talk, let’s see where you can find the actual brand’s stores in the U.S.. New York, Miami and now South Coast Plaza luxury mall in California’s Costa Mesa. Each of the 11 Roger Vivier stores worldwide was reportedly designed to look like Roger Vivier’s Parisian apartment. I wonder how many rooms are in the said apartment…

Hunger Games Katniss Barbie Doll

Picking up on the movie’s success (which movie, you may have heard it by now, was created after the Hunger Games bestselling book, first of the HG trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins and published in 2008), Mattel is now releasing a Katniss Everdeen Barbie Doll.

Although I’m sure we’ve all wanted her to wear the amazing opening ceremony black dress as styled by Cinna, Mattel’s Barbie Katniss doll is wearing the Hunger Games attire and her trademark bow. Luckily, she kept her side braid (or the Katniss braid like it’s now called by trend faithful fashionistas) and the mockingjay pin. The Katniss doll looks very much like Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger Games movie, so if you’re a fan (of the books or the movie, or both), the Mattel Katniss Barbie is already available for preorder here.

Erin Wasson Walks In Rockport Shoes

Erin Wasson for RockportIt’s hard to imagine, huh? But edgy Erin Wasson teamed up with Rockport footwear for the label’s upcoming ad campaign, breaking in September this year.

As Erin is a professional model (and designer), I’m sure she took her Rockport mission seriously as she was photographed for “A Day in the Life of a Model” themed campaign by Guy Aroch.

(fiy: Rockport is Adidas – owned and mostly known for its casual comfy shoes, hardly a must wear for Erin Wasson) {wwd}

Prada Final Fantasy

A couple of days ago, we were talking about Prada designing for the Italian Olympic Sailing Team. If that was mostly because of Prada’s CEO (Miuccia’s husband, Patrizio Bertelli) passion for sailing, I’m really curious where this unusual collaboration with Final Fantasy (the famous RPG game) came from!

In short: Prada designed the costumes for Final Fantasy’s 25th Anniversary’s characters. To bring even more attention on the FF fashion matter, the game characters lined up for a pictorial in Arena Homme+ with clothes from Prada’s Spring Summer 2012 men collection (there’s an entire press release on that matter here). Call me conservative, but this editorial is as creepy as possible! I have nothing against couture gaming, but CGI fashion pictorials work against my style. Completely. But maybe that’s just me. How do you feel about CGI (computer generated imagery) pictorials in fashion magazines? (if Final Fantasy is what you’re looking for, you can buy your copy here)

Zooey Deschanel Covers Marie Claire May 2012

I think I mentioned this already, but I’ll say it once more, though. Because I really have a crush on Zooey Deschanel. Her quirkiness is absolutely enchanting and her new TV series (New Girl) is all kinds of lovely. Not to mention her fashion style – which doesn’t always match my taste, but fits Zooey like a glove, deserves the style icon accolade. Marie Claire May 2012 cover seems to bring out the glam in nerdy Zooey. Fancy that?
