Geek Chic: MacBook Air Portable Makeup Mirror

Remember when Anna Wintour said that “Sometimes, Geeks Can Be Chic”? We knew that long before 2011 when she accepted the Webby Award with the traditional 5 – word speech. So if you’re a proud member of the Geek Chic club, be sure to put the MacBook Air Makeup Mirror on your wish list! It’s super cute, super geek (though I’m certain that Apple isn’t too happy about it – wink)

Catwoman’s Power Boots: Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises!

Catwoman is ready to hit the big screen July 20th with the return of Christopher Nolan’s Batman’s trilogy: The Dark Knight Rises. This summer is action – packed. Super – action, actually.

Saddened by the G. I. Joe: Retaliation push (although finished and ready for this summer launch, they decided to wait until 2013 as I’ve heard the Avengers success was considered a possible box office threat and people would not storm into the theaters like they should), my super – hopes go towards The Dark Knight Rises as I’m certain it’s going to be nothing short of spectacular!

Christopher Nolan directing, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon – Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple acting (to name just the headliners). We already talked about Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). But check out this poster awesomeness (which is, according to CinemaBlend, a hidden poster)! Next on Rodarte’s catwalk (wink)! Oh, and don’t be shy, click the image to be even more amazed by the larger picture!

David Beckham’s Elle UK July 2012

The much buzzed – about cover of the British Elle magazine with David Beckham as the main and only focus point is officially unveiled. Elle UK July 2012 has a deeply inked aqua look; plus the usual Beckham frowned stare.

What’s good about men on magazine covers is that their skin is not over Photoshopped into baby – smooth skin, but on the contrary. Victoria Beckham’s more tattooed half talks about his style, describing it as “British Gentleman” and his past fashion choices, admitting that he’s laughing about some of them (especially the all – matchy looks).

Just Cavalli Resort 2013 Collection Exotic Prints

Roberto Cavalli is well known for his loud, uncensored style. Making no exception to that never – discrete style statement, his affordable Just Cavalli label proposed the usual exotic prints in the Resort 2013 collection. With a Hindu twist, they say. I rather like the outfits: they’re certainly not discrete, but they’re joyful alright, as opposed to the sports – sober – ness previously presented! {style}

J. Crew Bali Offensive Style Guide

They just love controversy, don’t they? The J. Crew marketing team, as always, gets into some kind of trouble with their style guides! Remember that nail polish thing they did a while ago (now I see I was getting all hot about that boy’s pedicure for no reason)? Well, they’re back with yet another disputable presentation:

J. Crew’s June 2012 Style Guide revolves around a certain Bali Adventure. However, the J. Crew marketing dept thought that a picture with a Bali Temple wouldn’t transmit the right style info. So they threw in a handful of local kids for the flavor!

Now – if Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt would’ve been their cover stars, this could have been less offensive. Please, J. Crew, organize some kind of focus groups when you’re issuing your smart style guides! People may not get the right idea when you’re promoting photos like these! Actually, people get all the wrong ideas instead! And no, not everything is permitted in the name of fashion! (thank you, Ellington, for showing this to me! Although it saddened me, I hope the negative impact of this particular style guide will teach them to do better for future issues!)

Noomi Rapace’s Daily Telegraph Prometheus Cover

The lovely and oh – so – talented Noomi Rapace, whom we’re so eager to watch in the upcoming Alien movie, Prometheus is on the cover of The Daily Telegraph. And judging by the scans available online, Noomi is looking so exquisite, I couldn’t have done otherwise but talk about it! (she reminds me of Irina Lazareanu from this angle – it’s the hair, isn’t it?) {NoomiRapace fansite}

Garbage The World Is Not Enough

Are you having a wonderful Memorial Day break? I sure hope so! I wanted to find something really strong but also highly feminine for this weekendGarbage The World Is Not Enough seems to bring the right amount of power, chic and melody for the moment.

I remembered you like Garbage (so do I) and since they’re on tour this year (and I even know someone who has bought tickets already – wink – haven’t you, Riana?) a little Garbage moment won’t hurt anyone! The World Is Not Enough has been released on the Original Soundtrack of the James Bond (The World Is Not Enough, 1999) movie. Enjoy!
