Home Style: Synthetic Grass Covers Entire House
June 29th, 2012 by kpriss
Now I’ve seen some pretty strange things in my long web – walks. But this? It by far the weirdest in a long time! And not in a good way (weird). Just saying “Synthetic Grass” is enough to make me shiver and frown. But cover an entire house in synthetic grass is beyond my understanding. Oh, and see those bizarre concrete staircases piercing through windows and such? What mad architecture is that? {CuriousPlaces}
Katie Holmes Wears Slouchy Jeans As Skinny Jeans?
June 29th, 2012 by kpriss
Remember when we were constantly watching Katie Holmes’ style moves? Oh, those were the fun days! When Katie was playing with fashion, when Victoria Beckham was her personal stylist (and friend)! Something happened between the two, I wonder what…
Since Katie no longer has Victoria at her side, not only she considers herself a fashion designer (the exorbitant Holmes & Yang collections?) but she also thinks she’s a fashion icon. As such, she keeps wearing the latest trends. Only she gets them wrong.
Take this pair of jeans identified by the RCFA as being J Brand Slouchy Boy Jeans. Katie thought she could make a nice pair of above – the – ankle skinny jeans from a pair of slouchy jeans. Ouch! (there’s a poll after the picture)
Fendi’s Baguette Bag Turns 15. Lagerfeld Designs Anniversary Tee
June 29th, 2012 by kpriss
Talking about Fendi… The iconic Baguette, Fendi’s legendary bag celebrates its 15th anniversary (being launched in 1997). A fan of drawings of all kinds and all qualities, Karl Lagerfeld decided to mark the bag’s anniversary with a T-shirt (and a scarf). He threw a $590 price tag in the game, to make it even more special! I’m not buying unless it’s $1,500! Celebrating all the way to the bank! {Colette}
Joan Smalls’ Fendi Fall 2012 Ad Campaign
June 29th, 2012 by kpriss
As if we needed more proof that Joan Smalls is having a big fashion moment (which I hope it’ll last indefinitely), Karl Lagerfeld chose “her and her alone. No other girl – or boy – no child, only her.” for Fendi’s fall 2012 ad campaign.
He and Joan endured the bad Italian weather when they shot the campaign somewhere outside of Florence but oh, what a lovely result! Fendi’s ad campaign – set to break July 15 in printed media – was biensur photographed by Karl Lagerfeld with a little help from stylist Charlotte Stockdale against a hilly backdrop with olive and cypress trees! It’s not girly, it’s as abrupt as Lagerfeld likes it to be so I’m only liking this because of Joan. You?
Arizona Muse Does Her Best Androgynous Impression In Isabel Marant Fall Campaign
June 29th, 2012 by kpriss
The look fits the styling, although something more in the eighties spirit would’ve been alright too. Arizona Muse, my dahlings, is as cowboy-ish as she can be for Isabel Marant’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 ad campaign. All that’s missing is the horse in the sunset, the hat and we would’ve had a perfect Marlboro Man moment! {FF}
Quick How To Apply Nail Polish Like A Professional!
June 28th, 2012 by kpriss
When I was 10, my mom presented me with my first nails file. She desperately tried to discourage me from biting my nails so she thought that teaching me how to take care of my own nails would be a good idea. And it was, actually! I’ve been taking good care of my nails ever since and the awful nail biting habit died that day!
I never went to a beauty parlor in my life, never had anyone else doing my manicure / pedicure except moi. And, as I perfected myself in doing that over the years, I realized that my friends weren’t at ease with the process at all! So here’s a little infographic to explain that nasty nail polish thing step by step. Do you find it helpful?
Coach Leads World’s Luxury Index Handbags. Wait, What
June 28th, 2012 by kpriss
When I first saw this little piece of news, I was just starting my daily roundups in trying to find the most interesting fashion tidbits to discuss with you. I nearly zapped it. What a mistake that would’ve been!
So, long story short: a Geneva – based consulting group Digital Luxury Group released the World Luxury Index Handbags, a report based upon Internet searches, that is reportedly ranking “over 130 brands and over 130 million searches in eight countries”. Large scale, I know! But look what they’ve come up with:
Coach is the ranked at no. 1 in the World Luxury Index Handbags while Chanel is at no. 3 and Hermes is at no. 7. How. Is. That. Even. Possible? (need I remind you that, although Gwyneth Paltrow advertised for Coach, they belong in the “luxury” handbags producers ranks just as much as H & M belongs on the Paris Haute Couture catwalks!)
The Bag To Die For: The Row’s Fur Patchwork Backpack!
June 28th, 2012 by kpriss
No, literally! Rachel Zoe is absolutely dying for this little furry wonder! Coming from CFDA honorees, Mary – Kate and Ashley Olsen (through their “The Row” label), the furry patchwork backpack could be yours for “just” $17,000. But who’s counting when fashion’s in stake? At least it’s not $39,000, like that sellout alligator backpack they did a year ago! Now go ahead and buy the furry thing already, it’s clearly a bargain to die for! {Fabsugar}
