Move over, Vogue Paris! January will be a Calendar-fight month! Karl Lagerfel shot a Calendar of his own with his new adored Eva Herzigova.

Marie Claire Italy will be sold with the Calendar starting December 16th, in a black box. There will be 24 images in this Italian Calendar, all shot by the Kaiser himself, mesmerized by a woman’s power to be more than one. So he got Eva Herzigova playing a dozen characters, all in a night’s work, from 8pm to 8am. What would be your chosen one? November, however, proved to be difficult because it involved a cancer stick you know I disapprove heavily, especially associated with fashion. So you only have a part of those pictures, the part where there was no coffin nail…

This calendar is a first for almost everyone – the first calendar signed by Karl the photographer, the first calendar for Marie Claire. December 11th there will be a festive launch of this calendar (you’ll find it attaché to Marie Claire Italy January). (via)

You’ve heard it too… Rumor has it that Anna Wintour’s reign was cut short by French Nemesis Carine Roitfeld.

Just when I was complaining that Vogue Paris is looking more and more like Vogue US with their celebrity covers, I may have found the reason why. Vogue Paris has became Carine’s training field for her future position: editor in-chief of Vogue US. It seems that recent cut backs in advertising and closing down Vogue Men made Wintour the perfect candidate for a downgrade. Hence, a dignified resignation. Could this be true? While everyone was waiting for Vogue Russia’s Aliona Doletskaya, Carine was making her own way to the States? (via)

You know the rumor saying that Madonna will shot an advertising campaign as the face of Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2009 ? It’s false! The truth is… She has already shot those campaign pictures! On November 14th!

She was photographed in Café Figaro from Los Angeles by Steven Meisel, styled by Marie Amelie Sauve (working as a fashion editor for Vogue Paris and as a consultant for Balenciaga) and Garren (for the hair). How the campaign will look like? I don’t really know, but I know how her Madgesty looked after shooting it! What do you think? Old glam? (photos via 1, 2)

Two days ago I saw (again) a brilliant movie (if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing it yet, go look for it full speed!): Children of Men. Julianne Moore and Clive Owen acting brilliantly as usual.

Here’s the auburn lady herself in a gorgeous new spread, all black and white, full of expression, for Wonderland Magazine. Confessing her attraction for dark things and dark stories (all you have to do is think for a minute about the films she did and you’ll be convinced she loves everything noir) she throws a joke, maybe a spoiler for a movie to come:

here was a script I read recently where I was like, “Oooh, this horrible thing happens and it’s really good and then they’re all dead!”

In a constantly moving and changing (fashion) world, it’s unbelievably soothing to find a reference. A fine yet stable style coordinate that’s always going to be there. Evolving yet always the same. That’s the House of Yves Saint Laurent to me.

I’m always looking forward to the Fashion Week yet by it’s 9th day I’m losing track and by it’s 11th day I’m losing patience too. So many collections, so rapidly catwalking up and down the world’s fashion capitals! Seriously, by the time they reach Paris, I don’t want to hear a word about fashion shows! And then something happens. Along comes the Yves Saint Laurent defilé and my faith in style is restored.
