The Sweater Coat As Imagined By Sonia Rykiel

I must be cold or something! Today’s outfit comes from a far away land, where it’s always cold and despite the cold, you have to be fashionable. Sonia Rykiel’s chunky sweater is my idea of comfy, cozy, joyful fashion for the cold days.

And who else to model it but one of my favorite models, Sasha Pivovarova? This picture was taken by Mario Sorrenti for the latest issue of Vogue Paris. Also – the look was styled by Emmanuelle Alt, makeup by Aaron de Mey and hair by Recine. It’s laid back, casual, skinny and… you know, very Emmanuelle: skinny jeans, straight hair down on the shoulders. Oh – sigh – and the sweater? I think this must be my equivalent for that D & G strapless dress I loved so much! What’s your outerwear of choice when it gets cold outside?

Carine Roitfeld’s Magazine Will Be Different

We may not have a name yet, but Carine Roitfeld is already spreading the word about her magazine. We already know that she’s planning a September 2012 issue, the first of her printed magazine, in English.

Carine Roitfeld s Office We also know that she regrets using so many cigarettes and undressed girls in Vogue Paris under her reign. Now we’re informed that Carine “will try to do something totally different now” to keep her from getting “bored of myself or to bore my readers”.

Now about her readers – Carine expects them to be completely clueless when it comes to fashion and style: “It’s difficult for the woman to understand how to wear the clothes she is seeing on the catwalk.”

Umm. I’m confused? I thought we already had H&M, Zara and so forth for that… Didn’t we?

Carine Roitfeld’s September 2012 Issue

Yes, you’re reading that right! And it doesn’t mean she’s announcing a new magazine collaboration! Oh, no! My daaahlings, this time, the very fashionable and highly sought-after Vogue Paris ex-editor in chief, Carine Roitfeld has announced her very own fashion magazine!

Carine Roitfeld potentially new magazine Printed on paper, perhaps one issue / season (four / year), the magazine is yet unnamed although Carine admitted she would’ve wanted it to be similar to Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine. When will it be available? September 2012, in English! Would that do better than Vogue Paris does now without her? hmmm

(also: From the topless office of Terry Richardson, Lara Stone and Kate Moss to whom it may concern: we’re all taken for September 2012!)

Lara Stone’s Times T Style Magazine Fall 2011. Lara Stone’s Best Pictures Yet

If you thought that Vogue Paris sans Carine Roitfeld would be the end of Lara Stone’s merciless ruling over all fashion world and all fashion magazines, you were so, so wrong! Not only Lara Stone’s kingdom never lost an inch of magazine page or bit of internet publication, but she’s proving again, with a lot of coverage, that she owns the Fall 2011 season!

Lara Stone is the cover girl (and by that I don’t mean that she only holds the cover, but also a cover story inside, plus some of the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen of Lara Stone) of The New York Times T Style Magazine Fall 2011. She’s the little Dutch girl, as they say, and she’s talking about being Dutch too! (you can check out the story here) Click through to see previews of the images and say if they’re not some of the best Lara has ever done so far! Oh, and please, Adriana, can you comment both on the pictures and the article which talks about what not to miss in Amsterdam? I trust you more than I trust the New York Times people (wink)!

i-D Carine Roitfeld This Fall 2011!

This is pretty special. And pretty boring at the same time. Which is amazing, given that it involves two of the most controversial fashion people of the moment: Carine Roitfeld, ex – Vogue Paris, currently freelancing anything and everything fashion and Terry Richardson. Who … well, you know who!

So Carine Roitfeld covers the Fall 2011 issue of i – D Magazine. The cover tagline says Dream Big. And I do. I really do, because this cover is really dull and not helping my fashion inspiration today. Does it help yours? (photo via)

Freja Beha Erichsen Styled By Carine Roitfeld, Chanel FW 2011 2012 Ad Campaign

Though it’s photographed by the never too busy Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign was styled by Carine Roitfeld. Starring Freja Beha Erichsen, the campaign is whimsical and funnier than the usual gloomy Chanel Lagerfeld standards.

I’m actually loving it! It’s a phone booth in the background and Freja is trying on masks and veils and looking playful while posing for the camera. I wonder if Freja was Carine’s choice or Karl’s (since he seemed to have had developed a passion for another one of Carine’s propositions – Saskia De Brauw). Either way, the end result is wonderful and I think I’m actually enjoying Carine’s departure from Vogue Paris! How about you? (via)

Saskia De Brauw, Baptiste Giabiconi Chanel Cruise 2010 Ad Campaign By Karl Lagerfeld

You strongly advised me to go around the Chanel Cruise 2012 Collection because it was an all white catwalk. And I did. Because I don’t appreciate all white catwalks. They’re like a meal with no pepper and just salt. It lacks… something! That special something that’ll put the pedal on your circulatory system, making it all go faster, better, tastier.

But have you seen the ad campaign? The Chanel Cruise 2012 Ad Campaign as photographed by Karl Lagerfeld? With Saskia de Brauw and, biensur, Baptiste Giabiconi? Saskia, the girl pushed by Carine just before she left office chez Vogue Paris? It’s like Karl is taking whatever is shoved in his face… Sure, Saskia is lovely, she’s expressive and versatile. But why didn’t der Kaiser discovered before Carine got her to cover Vogue Paris? (not to mention how tired we grew of Baptiste?) (photos via)

Carine Roitfeld, Chanel Stylist Extraordinaire

While Emmanuelle Alt’s Vogue Paris issues are being held under unfriendly fire, Carine Roitfeld‘s freelance work takes her from New York to Paris and beyond!

After being contracted by Barneys New York, Carine led her stylist views to Chanel for their Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign which involved Freja Beha Erichsen as photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. Next is the Anja Rubik Fendi campaign with Der infatiguable Kaiser and soon a film for the Chanel Cruise Collection. Somebody Stop Her! (via, photo via)
