Joe Wright, Chanel Brad Pitt Ad Director. Clueless About Ad Meaning!
December 13th, 2012 by kpriss
I just read this tiny piece of contradictory news and I couldn’t help but sharing it with you. Because, honestly, my mind was just blown away by the ridiculously simple marketing strategy promoted by Chanel’s creative (or whoever might be responsible for the advertorial representation of the French maison).
Now! Remember Chanel’s video ad campaign with Brad Pitt? (if you’re having troubles remembering it, you can always watch it again, here). Well, the amazing directorial work was carried out by Joe Wright – which, in his day – to day professional life directed movies like Atonement or Anna Karenina.
However, what mr Joe Wright had to say about Brad Pitt’s Chanel No. 5 ads might surprise you. A lot! (hit the jump to find out why!)
Fashion Repetition: Louis Vuitton Patterned Spring Summer 2013 Ads
December 13th, 2012 by kpriss
While the entire fashion world was in complete awe about Louis Vuitton’s Spring Summer 2013 fashion show, I was keeping my enthusiasm for myself. Not (just) because I wanted to be the Grinch who stole the joy out of Vuitton’s fashion spirit, but mainly because I wasn’t exactly sure what was Marc Jacobs approach this season.
And I think I found it. He’s a genius at what he does: Marc. Either that, or he has entire team – what am I saying? an entire floor! an entire building! of geniuses behind him! Calling the marketing shots to sustain every fashion initiative signed by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. You’d think fashion evolution has us all estranged from our very childish core, huh? You couldn’t be more wrong! (you’re curious about what makes me say that? hit the jump and find out!)

Unretouched Jennifer Lawrence In Vogue Italia
December 12th, 2012 by kpriss
Isn’t it great to see someone normal in the pages of a fashion magazine like Vogue? It’s Vogue Italy, known for groundbreaking initiatives, but nevertheless, Jennifer Lawrence is also a happy sight for fashion bored eyes (suffering from overexposure to Kate Upton’s fashion blandness).
In my opinion one of the best actresses of the new generation, Jennifer Lawrence was photographed by Mark Selinger for the December 2012 issue of Vogue Italia. The pictorial is styled by Sarah Ellison (hair Rita Marmor, Makeup Ozzy Salvatierra and Nails by Jenna Hipp) evokes the celebrity life, as far as I can see, all for a good movie pretext. Victoria’s Secret Angels Christmas Caroling!
December 12th, 2012 by kpriss
Talking about ‘Santa Baby’! One thing leads to another: have you seen the latest Victoria’s Secret video? It’s a Christmas Special, with all the angels wearing Christmas special outfits and singing around the Christmas tree. That is, if you can see it. If you can see anything else besides those merry little Angels!
Oh, and the funny, cute voices! I’m loving it! But what I loved the most, was that beyond the video’s 30th second, it gets goofy and funny! And I would never, ever miss good fun. Not for Christmas, not ever!
Come on, do click play, let’s have a laugh with our favorite Victoria’s Secret Angels! ( I can’t even pick a favorite! They’re all so adorable!)

4 Classic Beauty Looks For This Party Season
December 12th, 2012 by kpriss
Talking about parties and preparations for the said parties. This season, I’m always trying to add some red to my outfit or my beauty routine. Which is, as I often told you about it, pretty basic. I always have my nails done, I’m taking great pleasure and go to great lengths to assure myself a flawless manicure, matching the outfit / the occasion.
It’s also true that, due to a heavy duty schedule, I tend to keep my nails more on the French side (remember an Instagram showing you just that) but I also like variations on a given theme (take the first Christmas – themed nails this season, also shared with you via Instagram – even now, as I type this, I have a candy cane, white and red manicure: this here, to be more exact!). The same goes for this beauty looks here. Four variations on the same theme. Cat – eyes and bold lips:
{1} cat eyes, red lips: because you need the right red to hit the right note from ‘Santa, baby…’ (so much more after the jump! Don’t be shy, click more!)
Liv Tyler Inspired Christmas Outfit
December 12th, 2012 by kpriss
My dahlings! Have you anything special in mind this Christmas? I was thinking about something festive, but not too much. Stylish but not too scandalous. Something that would hint at the special Holiday season but not in a particular way (read – religious or marketing related).
I’m aware that I’m saying that all in proposing an outfit with bright red accents. But really, how can one reference Christmas in a dressy ensemble without making it about snow, Santa or Christmas Trees?
Also – I’m a big admirer of Liv Tyler’s style and attitude. Towards celebrity and fashion. She was pictured here attending the New York premiere of The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey, wearing black Givenchy and her bold, bright red lipstick. Her trademark beauty accent. I’m loving the outfit, though – it’s a jumpsuit. A black, festive jumpsuit with oversized pants. I really thought it was a skirt, at first sight! After the jump, there’s an outfit I put together on the very same theme, so go on, what are you waiting for? Hit the jump!

Kate Upton’s White Cosmopolitan Russia Cover, January 2013
December 11th, 2012 by kpriss
It keeps getting better by the hour! Kate Upton is gracing yet another fashion magazine cover, this time Cosmopolitan Russia January 2013! Also in white, also short dress, also playing the innocent model. I’m honestly beyond perplexed by the fashion industry’s addiction to this Upton girl. It keeps spreading like some Hustler virus! {tFS}
Karlie Kloss Doodah Skateboard
December 11th, 2012 by kpriss
Not a day without Karlie, huh? Yesterday I was talking about Karlie being the new face of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (and about that cryptic campaign) and here’s another Karlie moment to enjoy!
The skateboards brand Doodah teamed up with Swiss photographers Claudia Knoepfel & Stefan Indlekofer for a special boards collection named ‘Supermodel’. Because – you guessed it right – actual models posed for the collection (Arizona Muse, Freja Beha, Lara Stone, Iselin Steiro, Magdalena Frackoviak, Edita Vilkeviciute, Isabeli Fontana, Anja Rubik and now, Karlie Kloss). If you’re a fan – or you know someone who is – you’d better hurry because only 99 items were made and they’re currently available through Doodah boutiques, as reported by Vogue France.
