Charlotte Casiraghi’s Gucci’s Forever Now New Royal Campaign

Gucci and Charlotte Casiraghi sure seem to have developed a special kind of relationship. They appointed her as one of the house’s spokespersons and she only uses Gucci when is comes to her equestrian performances.

Charlotte Casiraghi, although the niece of Monaco’s ruling Prince Albert, is making a name for herself in the horses jumping competitions and free lance (fashion) journalism. Her Gucci exclusive deal (the competition costumes designed by Frida Giannini for Charlotte are to never be retailed to the end consumer) must be a mutually comfortable arrangement since getting real Royals to pose in fashion ad campaigns must be a real royal pain as well, if not next to impossible.

So, this new Gucci Flora Forever Now Ad campaign is an event in itself and should be treated accordingly.

Less than 48 hours after the Second Inauguration have passed and still new and never – before heard details emerge from the festivities. To my great surprise (and disappointment), I found out yesterday that Beyonce lip synched her ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ performance – apparently – because someone took that decision at the last minute due to Bey’s newly contracted cold.

I mentioned something about McQueen going behind the mask earlier? It’s not something to be taken lightly as covered faces make a comeback in Alexander McQueen’s main line Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign.

We’ve seen mesh covering the model’s face for the McQ fetish infused campaign (or a transparent plastic mask for the menswear campaign), now it’s time to sweeten up. Raquel Zimmermann posed for David Sims in a less – than usual fashion manner. Her face is almost entirely covered in a substantial film of liquid honey.

We’ve heard little about Vanessa Paradis after her saddening split for Johnny Depp. Now we have H & M to thank for bringing her back into the spotlight again. Starting this upcoming March, the new H&M Conscious Collection will be available in store to alleviate the pains of your guilty shopping conscience!

(does it? Does buying ‘green’ fashion make you feel like you’re spending less? I keep seeing green fashion offerings almost everywhere and they look like normal items only with an increased price and a fancy label reading conscious – something. So I came to the conclusion that this is just another commercial trick trying to get you into the same ol’ buying game!)

While quietly doing my interwebs rounds I came across the ‘new’ Vogue February 2013 cover. Wait. What? We all saw and discussed the February cover, where did this ‘Dirrty Pop’ cover came from?

Reading between the lines, I discovered the ‘fan made’ attribute and it all became clearer. The ladies of today’s pop music were carefully put together by an enthusiastic fan, albeit very talented. Getting Aguilera, Beyonce, Britney, Cher, Gaga, Katy Perry, JLo, Madonna, Mariah and Rihanna in the same room is as tricky & safe as juggling with nitroglycerin, so having them all posing for the same cover? As improbable as Vogue US having models on its cover every single month!

All in all, this cover had real potential and I’m seriously seeing Annie Leibovitz’ epic reign challenged by this anonymous fan work. Epic! Yes, this fake pop Vogue cover is epic!

With Alexander McQueen, there was always a dose of dark and bizarre into his fashion forays. Sarah Burton softened up the rough edges to Lee’s brutally honest darkness and added so much sensual femininity to the collections and the campaigns that fetish almost translated exclusively into drama.

David Sims photos of Manon Leloup and Matt Bell for McQ by Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 Ad Campaign take the fetish road to fashion intimacy. It’s all done with grace and depth and with no trace of cheesy. It’s a trans – seasonal campaign, going beyond the flavor of the moment into the deeper layers of provocative. It’s all about going behind the mask, right?

We’re at this 2013 Spring Couture week’s third show report and it’s safe to declare flowery clothes and flowers appliqués on various clothing items as the main fashion directive of the Haute Couture Spring 2013 Fashion Week.

Stylists want us all to wear the Spring, not just feel it. And the designers weren’t shy about using the stylists directions, they went heads first and filled their new collections with a colorful infusion of petals.

This idea had so much potential that Karl Lagerfeld over used it in his Chanel Couture Spring 2013 collection. Flowers up, flowers down, flowers in print, flowers in lace, all kinds of flowers, all sorts of placements for almost any and every look from his collection’s total of 68.

While reading about Monica Bellucci’s Vanity Fair pictorial, I came across a piece of news talking about Monica Cruz’s pregnancy. Wait, what? When did that happen? While everyone and their dog speculated over Penelope Cruz being pregnant again (a while back, it’s true, but still), her younger sister, Monica Cruz really is pregnant. Almost six months along.

And no, there’s no father in this picture. Monica Cruz confessed she used artificial insemination to bring her lifelong dream to life: motherhood. While I can’t stop from starring at Monica’s picture, admiring her beautiful pregnant body in total denim look, I have to ask: what do you think of her decision, to bring a child into the world via artificial insemination?
