Meryl Streep’s Vogue January 2012

This is amazing news! Although slightly predictable and more in Vanity Fair’s alley, Vogue US brings Meryl Streep for the cover of their January 2012 issue.

Judging by the looks of it, I’d say it’s Annie Leibovitz, but that is yet to be confirmed (which it already has, see the update below). For the moment, all we have to admire and look at, is Vogue’s US January 2012 cover. Occasioned, biensur, by Meryl Streep’s new movie (she’s impersonating UK’s Iron Lady – and the titles I read were saying that her acting is perfect and that she’s a sure candidate for next year’s Oscars…). Which would actually explain this cover – I doubt Anna would’ve played with the wrong camp. How do you like the cover so far?

UPDATE: Official confirmation has arrived – it’s Annie Leibovitz who’s behind this cover and “Force of Nature pictorial”; here‘s the interview with Meryl.

Anna Wintour Wants Kate The Duchess On Vogue’s Cover

Rumors circulate saying that Anna Wintour would like to have Kate Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge, on the cover of Vogue US. The feared editor in chief is in awe of Kate’s style and behavior, trying to get Mario Testino to photograph her for a fashion (and more) story (Mario Testino also photographed the Royal couple’s engagement).

Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge Vogue cover spoof There’s no telling if she will do as she pleases since the Duchess is carefully guarded by the Palace and so far already refused a Vogue story from UK’s Alexandra Schulman (who also tried to get Testino on the job, right around the Royal Wedding).

What say you? Will Anna get Kate on Vogue’s cover? (and will it end up looking so bland like the NYmag is trying to show us it will?)

Lara Stone Covers Vogue Japan November 2011

And again Vogue Japan is (way) ahead of the time: their November 2011 issue has surfaced. Well, at least its cover did!

Lara Stone is slowly getting her cover space back and although I truly believed it was Abbey Lee Kershaw there for a second (doesn’t she look like Abbey? I’m so used to seeing Lara with bleached eyebrows, once she’s a naturel, I don’t recognize her anymore), the fashion connaisseurs say it’s Lara Stone and that she’s wearing Givenchy. (too much yellow for my taste, but it does make the magazine more noticeable, doesn’t it?)

Claudia Schiffer’s Harper’s Bazaar UK July 2011

Claudia Schiffer is back in the game again! After taking a pause after giving birth to her third child, Claudia is now officially back in full power. Her Harper’s Bazaar July 2011 cover (and pictorial) stand proof that she’s one of the supers!

Photographed by Horst Diekgerdes and wearing the much acclaimed Prada Spring Summer 2011 collection (on the subscriber’s cover), Claudia is charmingly fashionable, even with bleached eyebrows. I sometimes wonder what the world would have done without Brigitte Bardot! (Harper’s Bazaar via)

Vogue’s Alexander The Great. Long Live Lee McQueen!

Nonsense rambling aside, Alexander McQueen was seriously celebrated by fashion magazines and if Kate Moss’ Harper’s Bazaar wasn’t what you would expect from your regular fashion pictorial, maybe Vogue US Alexander The Great feature would sooth your fashsoul!

From the models they used (Caroline Trentini, Coco Rocha, Karen Elson, Karlie Kloss, Raquel Zimmerman, Stella Tennant) to the museum – friendly settings and the time – stands – still feeling, Alexander is Great as remembered by Sarah Burton, photographed by Steven Meisel and styled by Grace Coddington. Sure, nothing can beat Daphne Guinness’ epic, but this is a great way to remember McQueen and his undoubted sartorial and theatrical genius, which feature you liked most? Harper’s or this one? Reese Witherspoon’s Vogue May 2011

There’s something about Reese Witherspoon these days! That’s why she keeps on being featured on various magazines covers in less than a month! Now don’t get all heated over this, it’s nothing simpler than a new movie coming up with Reese and Robert Pattinson (Water for Elephants).

Besides the obviously retro-ish cover, the inside pictorial is a giveaway in the movie’s direction: the circus theme. Reese, however, looks lovely, way prettier than in her Elle UK feature (which you can find, for comparison, right after the jump, as well as few images from the inside Vogue pictorial). Kate Moss McQueen Tribute Harper’s Bazaar UK May 2011

Another day, another Kate Moss cover! No, seriously, this time it’s big! Harper’s Bazaar UK has Kate Moss on the cover (the issue has two covers, and Kate is on both of them) of the May 2011 issue. And there’s a perfectly good explanation for that – an Alexander McQueen tribute issue!

Photographed by Solve Sundsbo, Kate Moss is wearing a gorgeous ruffled dress on the newsstand cover. A dress you may remember. Somewhat. Ghostly. It’s the same dress Kate was wearing in the new legendary hologram feature she did in the Fall Winter 2006 Alexander McQueen Fashion Show. Such an ethereal moment! One of my favorite in fashion. Ever! The second cover, however, is radically different, miles away from the first and from Kate’s usual style. (the story continues right after the jump with larger images of the covers)

Freja Beha Erichsen Covers Vogue Brazil March 2011

I’m going through a Freja period. Me and the entire fashion industry. In fact, the fashindustry may already be out of Freja flavor (we know Arizona Muse was having a huge moment and so was Abbey Lee Kershaw. So maybe Freja is already last season. Either way, I’m loving her versatility).

So Freja Beha Erichsen covers Vogue Brazil March 2011. And that wouldn’t be much, aside the amazing model cover she makes. However, this is so different from the Freja we know and we’re used to seeing – androgynously slender and unhappily tummy aching (you know, fashion’s most beloved pose).

Photographer Henrique Gendre. This cover is great on so many levels, I don’t know where to begin – it’s fabulously tacky and leopard – cheap, the hair is adorably un – done, the makeup is seductively eyeliner – full and she looks imperfectly perfect. How do you like Freja? More on the vamp size like here or the usual over skinny androgynous look? (photo via)
