This is one of the most spectacular photo shoots I’ve seen lately, and, to my big surprise, it involves a movie star I’m not too fond of. This is not to say that I dislike her, she just leaves me indifferent most of the times.
But it’s not the case with this Interview March 2013 situation. Rooney Mara, as photographed by Mikael Jansson is striking! The entire pictorial is dramatic and clearly looks specifically tailored for Rooney. Although it’s possible you may hear about the Stand Up Guys Soundtrack’s Not Running Anymore (Bon Jovi’s Golden Globe nominated soundtrack song), I’d like you to stop and listen this piece right here, from the said movie’s soundtrack.
Baby Huey Hard Times is featured on the opening sequence’s soundtrack and is oh-such a lovely, powerful soul funk work of art! It comes all the way from 1971 and it’s a glorious match to the overall style of the movie: just hit the jump and play on! Have you seen the Stand Up Guys, by the way? As you well know, New York Fashion Week is history now. As a matter of fact, as we speak, London Fashion Week’s third day is on a roll (Burberry today! Yaay!) but I have some unfinished NYFW business I’d like to submit to your attention as well.
Karlie Kloss was appointed as the new face of Mercedes Benz as they already gotten us used to pairing a very high profile model with one of their very high profile cars. This time it’s the Mercedes Benz CLA Class and it was actually launched a few days ago, on February 12th 2013 at the Lincoln Center (you may remember we mentioned something about a Ryan McGinley ad she did for Mercedes? Well, you can watch it after the jump).
For the fancy occasion, Karlie was there too. And what she wore for the occasion is the reason I wanted to do this story. Because her look is the perfect answer to a potential dilemma starting like this: ‘what to wear for a sophisticated event?’:

Galliano For De La Renta Fall 2013, Wears Hasidic Controversial Outfit

So by now we’ve all heard that John Galliano was invited by Oscar de la Renta to be part of his design studio and act as a semi – creative for the De La Renta maison. We’ve even spotted some flamboyant hints in the recently presented Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 collection, something that would easily remind us all of Galliano’s parading sense of fashion.
And the fashion world seemed to be enjoying the news, the outcome and the perspective of Galliano being redeemed in front of the fashion conscious population and, hopefully, one day being pardoned by fash – ignorants as well.
But that was until John Galliano was seen wearing a Hasidic outfit, right in full Fashion Week season! Everybody’s gone ballistic now on the implications of the said outfit. Should we?
