Leopard Print to Last
November 26th, 2007 by kpriss
It’s been going on for over two years now and we cannot get too much of this leopard print. Have it on dresses, coats, skirts, pants, shoes, bags and so on. Now it’s moving on to scarfs but remains still. We witnessed some bad taste, we spotted some impressively resistant pieces dragged into the spotlight again and again. Whether it’s a designer last hit or a vintage trophy, the leopard print it’s there to last.
Anyway, we suggest that you wear either one single leopard print element (scarf OR shoes OR bag OR belt OR gloves) either one piece of clothing in the very same leopard print. Don’t overdue (unless it’s lady like matching shoes and/or belt).
Here some examples of how to successfully wear the leopard print: Kate Moss, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Mischa Barton. Waiting to hear your ideas.

Fashionable Skull Candy
November 26th, 2007 by kpriss
The skull mania is NOT over!
For holidays, we have these stylish chocolate candies from Douglas Little who has worked with confectioner Valerie Gordon to create the mori ex cacao (death by chocolate) collection.
The delicious skulls are done in three different flavours and then painted with colored cocoa butter.
A set of three, one of each flavor: scorched caramel (organic cream is slowly combined with sugar over an intense flame, until the deep amber confection appears) , bitter brandied cherry (an exquisite and unusual confection of indulgent bitter chocolate, kirsch-perfumed ganache and succulent sour cherries steeped in liqueur, finished in porcelain white cocoa), curious chilli (an eccentric array of chilies and spices are combined with the deepest chocolate into an exotic and exciting sensation, with a heat that lingers long after the chocolate is gone).

Red Lips Everywhere
November 26th, 2007 by kpriss
There’s no need to look any deeper to see how festive everyone looks! So easy to switch from day to night makeover in just one splash of colour! Red is that one special passion colour that makes even a smile a promise for celebration.
And think about the return of the glam, the retro looks, the retro curls and hairstyles we’ve seen recently on the red carpet – red lips are a match made in heaven! Add a little white shimmer shadow to the lower lash line of your eyes for extra retro glam look and then do the lips up with dramatic red. You can start by lining lips in a pencil that matches your lipstick or even darker by a shade. Then apply the lipstick (a brush is the easiest way to ensure a clean line), blot, and repeat the lipstick application. If you feel your lipstick ain’t trasfer-safe enough, just bite a tissue with your lips inbetween applications.
Here we have some bold reds to give you ideas : Ashlee Simpson, Dita von Teese, Katherine Heigl, Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron. Looking forward to see you wearing your red lipstick on.

Straight Hair to Die for?
November 26th, 2007 by kpriss
We’re facing a rare urge in cutting our hair short (as seen in our earlier post), adopting heavy bangs or just leaving it straight and shiny in a rock attitude. As we all know, winter and all that moisture in the air ain’t a bliss for straight locks. Every morning flat iron routine.
And then, the good news : it’s called the Brazilian method, “escova progressiva” in Brazil, and it is the latest trend in hair straightening. The Japanese method that was so trendy a few years back, is fading, now the Brazilian way is the way to go. We are promised glossy, sleek and voluminous locks – for about six weeks (the process costs $150- $600 in salons). Before you jump for joy, here’s the backstage: “formaldehyde.” Formaldehyde is known to cause cancer, and the amount used to straighten hair with the Brazilian Method is more than ten times the amount deemed safe by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel.
If you choose to do this at home, these chemicals can prove to be particularly harmful. It is stated that a 33- year old woman in Brazil actually died from this process. “What we thought possibly happened was that after doing the treatment, she was in the bathroom taking a shower and the heat caused a heart attack. She died in the shower.” declared the officials of the National Health Surveillance Agency
Are we literally dying to look straight-haired like that? Or we’ll just wait for the right method to come along?
(and we’re not suggesting that flat irons with 220 degrees temperature would be so much better!)

Not over Skull Jewellery
November 26th, 2007 by kpriss
Me&Ro still finds a way to make Skull motifs fashionable! Of course, Lindsay Lohan was one of the first celebrities caught wearing Me&Ro Jewellery (in this very picture a Me&Ro Ring).
The big Screen showed us in The Devil Wears Prada the transformed version of Anne Hathaway with a Me&Ro necklace, The Kingdom – Jennifer Garner wears Me&Ro Jewellery, Margot at the Wedding – Jack Black, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rendition – Reese Witherspoon. The Small Screen CSI – Marg Helgenberger, Emily Procter, Mariska Hargitay, Melina Kanakeredes, Weeds – mary-Louise Parker. What about you? Do you still find skull motifs interesting?
