Haute Couture. There’s nothing like it. No Prêt-à-Porter fashion will ever match or top the real catwalk dream that is the Haute Fashion.
Armani Privé Spring 2009 Couture was composed of 61 models, mostly gray, beige and noir with few splashes of electric blue, yellow and red. The collection had a retro air with a sci-fi twist and a serious Asian flavor. (don’t miss the entire collection, right after the jump)
This Armani Prive collection is torn between his cold metallic glamorous catwalk self and the economic crisis thus his half retro-recession glam and the other Asiatic-sci-fi exotic glam.
You can easily spot lace-derivatives amongst the black creations as well as a creamy-lacey dress just like the infamous Marc Jacobs black hearted one (you know, the one Posh dressed a while back). How do you like this Armani Prive 2009? Couldn’t he have made it more Haute Couture than that? (photos via style.com)

Some of the dresses make me think of Sean Young’s character Rachael in Blade Runner. Its a pretty collection of clothes that I myself would not mind wearing.
loving the floral and bold colors!!
Very beautiful. I would love to own just one basic Armani piece. Though I don’t even dream about these collections anymore after all its not my world and it will be always inaccessible….
Rachel in Blade Runner? Oh, interesting…..Such a great film!
I wouldn’t wear these designs to a dogfight.
What ever happened to civil elegance?
Doesn’t PAY enough?
I wouldn’t attend a dogfight in my life!
