Keeping his Lunar blue theme going, Armani is said to have tried to evoke the grand dame of fashion Loulou de la Falaise. She was a known muse to Yves Saint Laurent, so this may seem a bit contradictory as she has inspired Yves as well. But, an Icon is an icon, regardless, so Armani’s collection was a masterful show with plenty grab-attention details and lots of inspiring pieces!

I’ll start tonight’s modest Oscars 2013 Red Carpet report with Jessica Chastain. The lady really got it right this time! Her custom made Armani Prive bronze dress is fitting, complimenting and absolutely ravishing!

Also, judging from what I saw on tonight’s Red Carpet, it’s all about Old Hollywood glamour ladies! Loooong tresses, a lot of extensions happening, a lot of bling and couture – ish dresses! Jessica Chastain, my dahlings, is just the beginning of a long glam road paved with sequins and nothing but stunning ladies wearing beautiful gowns!

Kate Beckinsale is doing the inauguration honors for that gossip thingie with her amazing sneak –y Armani Prive dress (Spring 2012 Couture) from the Total Recall premiere. As I can’t wait to see the movie that premiered on August 1st in Hollywood, let’s judge Kate Beckinsale’s fashion move on the premiere’s Red Carpet. (don’t be surprised if I won’t criticize her, Kate is one of my favorite actresses and style – wise she’s always been consistent and coherent with her looks) – cast your vote after the picture!

It’s really hard to believe fashion designers ignore the endless marketing possibilities The Red Carpet represents. With that in mind, Giorgio Armani worked his usual haute couture magic and spawned a reptilian Spring 2012 Armani Prive Couture collection.

It’s all in the sparkle, in the snakeskin’s cold and exotic beauty. And we all know someone who really loves snakes and is known to wear Armani on the Red Carpet – yes, that’s right, Angelina Jolie could be the perfect candidate for this exquisite Armani collection! Not to mention the Oscar 2012 nominations which were announced during the very show – to which, believe it or not, a nominee was assisting from the very First Row! (Jessica Chastain) So, what say you – will she wear something from this collection for the Oscars Red Carpet?

I would like to be optimistic and declare that Giorgio Armani’s soul reason for this heavily Asian inspired collection is his involvement in the UNESCO foundation treating with the victims of the Japan earthquake. I think the overload of Japan inspiration from his latest Haute Couture show has more to do with the fact that the Asian market is a strategic financial opportunity for the house.

Either way, the Armani Privé Fall 2011 (Armani Privé is Armani’s Haute Couture label) is a wonderful collection, magical and head spinning. Especially with those Philip Treacy headpieces! Reese Witherspoon was the picture of classic elegance in her black and white dress for the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Part of the Armani Prive Fall 2009 couture collection, the dress was a perfect choice for Reese.

So was her hair and her attitude. I’m definitely loving her Oscars night attire and I think she was one of the best dressed tonight. Classic black dress, sure, a safe choice, but a wonderful result (and with Reese and her lbd we make the transition from the red and beige / silver hues to more classical dress choices).
