I’m fully conscious that it’s her job to look this way, but seriously? Two months after giving birth, Gisele Bundchen is on the cover of Vogue Brazil June 2013 as photographed by Mario Testino? For a full Body Issue?
On one side I’m happy for her and many mothers out there who have a real model to look up to, someone who doesn’t let the pregnancy get into the way of their body being flawless. But on the other side, I do believe she’s setting some impossibly high to reach standards of physical shape and weight related issues. Mario Testino allegedly photographed her just two months after giving birth and she looked like that. Come on?! Seriously?
I know there are so many out there who couldn’t care less about Gisele’s personal life and have no idea that she just had her baby girl some 60 days before doing a full frontal shoot sans clothes, mind you! But we know! And we cannot undo that!
And then there’s Photoshop. With a little stroke of brush here, a filter there and a smooth tool overall, I can bring myself to rival Gisele any day. On my computer screen (oh, how modest I am! wink). But from Photoshop’s reality into the real reality there’s an appreciable distance measured on the scale, in the mirror and in each and every one of our pretty heads’ perceptions.
With Kate Upton leading the models pack, Gisele could worry during her maternity leave. But judging from these previews, I’m more worried for Kate Upton than Gisele!

Nice for guys. I don’t care. On some photos she so badly photo-shopped I do not recognise her at all. Bad idea to look up to this….
Worse, I find this all denigrating to women in general!!
Hmm, Victoria Secret is using two years old photos of Kate Upton in their new catalogue….Kate is not amused….
I am not a fan of Mario Testino´s work but I find this photoshot is superb. I am really liking it.
