Clearly trying her best to honor the designer chairman of tonight’s 2013 Met Gala edition, a very pregnant Kim Kardashian walked the star-studded Red Carpet in a rose-printed Givenchy dress.
Riccardo Tisci custom-made this gown for Kimmy and although I’m certain he did it with the best intentions in mind, the end result hinted more at a hippie catwoman – pregnant and looking overwhelmed – than at a Punk: Chaos to couture themed costume.
But if the rumors confirm that Beyonce was wearing Givenchy, I can safely assume that the high society of rappers’ ladies is pertinent to Riccardo Tisci’s talented designs.
And there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you’re looking like Queen Bey did tonight. Aka flawless. If you’re feeling odd, that shows, even from underneath a fancy Tisci dress for Givenchy! The design, based on one of the models from the Fall 2013 collection presented little while ago, is nothing, not even by a stretch (pun intended) punk or chaotic on Kim Kardashian’s pregnant body in my opinion. I think I never saw soo many people from fashion industry sooooo inappropriate dressed for an event . EVER!
I am not including Kim Couchrakian in the list because she is not even fashion. Her emsemble was by far the worst in the humankind´s history ,with the built in gloves and matching shoes. Anna Wintour had the last laugh and totally “punked” her when approving it.
But why people like models where sooo boringly dressed and so conservative for a fashion/punk party ? I can understand that ladies from the upper echelons from NY society don t want to be seen dressed in a punk attire but the models and actresses ????? Marion Cottillard in a BEIGE dress? Katty Holmes in a white diaphanous ? Jeniffer Lawrence in a prom like dress ?
Not many did anything even resembling punk. Sad. Wasted opportunity.
Madonna was the queen of the night. Miley was perfect too. Sienna was good. Linda Fargo (from Bergdorf )hit the nail on the head. Ahhh.. SJ Parker was fantastic too.
