Watching shows like this Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2011 remind me why I love fashion in the first place. Because it’s fashion!
Highly retro glamorous, the Christian Dior couture as imagined by John Galliano is so theatrical and feminine, it’s hard not to imagine movies while watching the girls catwalking down the Parisian runway. Yes, yes, I know it’s all staged and rehearsed, but even so, I can’t get enough of the Dior girls’ doing their little drama while parading. The actual collection is said to have been a tribute to Rene Gruau, the Dior illustrator from the forties. And it makes sense. Galliano is not one to get shy while using fabric and achieving a sartorial silhouette. Layer after layer, bubble after bubble, Christian Dior Haute Couture brings drama a little closer to your fashheart. How can one not love these shows? (photos via)
